Not sure about the Nuremburg ring , but I know at the Nurburgring they are REALLY strict about things like that and will turn you away.

Each and every modification carried out on a German-registered car has to be TÜV'd (in effect, an MOT every time you modify something) and evidence of the current TÜV is displayed on the number plates, but for foreign-registered cars, they have no idea whether any modifications are compliant, so by all accounts, unless you can prove the modification is TÜV compliant, they won't be letting you go out.

This is going to have massive implications for the hundreds of Brits who go to the 'ring in their modded cars. If the marshalls pull you over, you will need to have all your paperwork for ANY modification and prove to them it's TÜV-compliant, or else you won't be allowed out.

That will stop many going - what paperwork can you get here, that will keep the Krauts happy from the TUV perspective? Hardly going to get an MOT station to write out a certificate that your new turbo/injectors/remap etc are fitted and working correctly, are you? I can understand why they are doing what they are doing, but unless you live inside the confines of Germany and have the TUV approvals in place, it ain't going to happen, which is a shame.

    Exactly.
There are lots of foreign visitors to the Ring (which is classed as a public toll road quite a lot of the time), surely a ruling like this would lose them too much revenue? It would be a pretty silly move.

Perhaps there'll be a TUV testing station at the Ring lol

I can't see anything relating to this on the official Nurburgring site

i've read the TUV rule came into force in 2008 so there obviously not enforcing it very much, probably just use it to check over the car if you turn up in a nail or have a bump on circuit

its a miracle, finally got the throttle wheel welded onto the manifold (did take a bit of threatening lol). Can start putting the engine bay back together & make the new alloy intercooler pipes up (thanks V70ETS)

trial fitted the manifold today to make sure everything was in the right place & the throttle mechanism wasn't in the way, it has moved the PCV t-piece so got to make a new pipe from the cam cover, also got to grind the plug down for the throttle position switch. Not exactly major problems

note the throttle cable coming from the left

your not going to get shorter, or straighter turbo pipes than that lol

it was a bit too dark to get any good pictures, but thanks to V70ETS got the duct on in the perfect place. Now just to feed the pipe thru the inner wing & onto the turbo (the turbo chatter really is going to scare people on the path now lol)
