As per the OP's thread title, if it's the one MRP took a couple of shots of recently then I think it's a good looking car.
If your young and struggling with the insurance then modding the car is a definite no no, and if your thinking it's OK I won't tell the insurance company then quite frankly I think your mad! Modifying a car and not telling the insurance company appears fine right up until the point you have an accident then if you need to make a claim and an assessor comes out with more than a few brain cells finds out your car is modified then you might as well have no insurance at all as you breech the terms of your insurance by not telling them.

My advise is keep it clean and look after it for a few years, it's certainly a nice looking car anyway, build your no claims up and either get another car or start modifying this one when you can afford it, but what ever you do don't run the risk of voiding your insurance for a few extra hp's.

If he does I hope he tells his insurance that the Discovery is modified and now has a floor pan with more holes than swiss cheese, albeit it not through his own choice... lol

I saw his insurance quote for a T5, it wasn't pretty lol.

He makes strange noises when I take him out in the sweed but I do envy the 46mpg he gets from the D5.

Bloody bodywork on his S80 is better than nearly every early P2 I've seen too. Git.

Try a quote with the same details but a year older and see if it's much cheaper, might give him something to look forward too, either that or save hard for... lol

If he keeps it long enough, there's plenty of work planned for his car to up it's standard so by the time his insurance drops a bit, it'll be very close to mint (with some subtle extras)

like I said... If he keeps it...

He's a bloody nightmare with cars, although this is the longest he's kept a car since the last landrover
