Exhaust question

The very back box has started rattle on idle the rest of the system is in good nick, has anybody cut off the rear box and put a straight pipe to the tailpipe?.

I've read that the middle box does most of the silencing so will it be noisier?.

when i first got my t5r. it was almost silent inside the car even when on boost.
so i removed the centre box and welded in 2 90 degree bends.
tbh it will be louder but i was never happy with it as you will not see a performance increase so makes sense to get a stainless system

I've just ordered the full turbo back stainless Ferrita from Don. It's a hell of a whack as you don't see much change from 900 notes but the DP is anything but straightfoward to manufacture and the sports cat with it is reputed to be a goodun, and the assurnace of some performance with it kinda helps justify the expense. I've had my fill of 'custom' setups too, so the guarantee of no drone leaves me few other options (and my stock one is 11 years old now so I figure it deserves a good stainless since its been remapped).

There's a seller on eBay who does the Scorpion exhausts (about £320 single or £350 double if I remember correctly), and another seller who does a custom build for about £275 with a choice of 'volume'.

i paid £430 from longlife leeds. for a custom turbo back with decat and only one silencer but tbh i will be going back soon as i raise funds to get another fitted.
made as much of a difference as the rica (or it feels/sounds like it)
