I'd go for silver on a dark car personally.
Good choice though, I do like Canistos.
98 V70 AWD - Long Term Companion. Loads of little changes, the Volvo with a twist.
96 850 R Estate - Pink Pus, project pulled from the weeds!
Oh, plus a glorious (but dead) 01 Alfa 166 V6 and a 05 Liquid Yellow Clio 182.

next question - Ive had some seriously STUPID quotes for refurb up to £100 per wheel FFS???? more than they are worth
so where so where do [we] the club go to get wheelies done please - is there an old Fred in The Shed somewhere whos (been doing it for donkeys years mate) that charges like £30 a wheel somewhere? (he asks hopefully)

Canistos look good on most things.
Dark coloured cars typically look good with light coloured wheels and lighter/brighter coloured cars look great with dark wheels. Silver or a little darker would be great, though you've got some welding ahead of you first.
Just got back from Northampton with these bad boys 2 hours out and back! Had a look at the curbed one and NOT as bad as it looks in the pic but still £60 for a tig and balance!
POURING DOWN starving - so dragged them in - best sight of the day - hot bacon sarnie and a mug of tea!! Thank you lady turbo!

Well the price you pay for refurbs is very area specific.
Around here I pay £50-60 a wheel all in but I have also been quoted £65+ vat just for the faces locally!

Yeah the guy in Northants is a Volvo nut has loads of them and said a local guy does the weld and balance and refurb for £50 per wheel - down my way we are stung with LONDON prices £100 per wheel!!!

You have 17" wheels on the V70, why go down to 16"? Will they even fit over the brakes?
Just wondering.

Really? My mistake
Yes checked carefully before buying otherwise speedo over reading and grating brakes!
I dont know WHAT those horrible things are on the V70 but they are getting sold SHARPISH once I have my new tyres off and transferred to the Canistos might get a fiver on ebay for them as they are so awful

Shame mate, I've got a set of straight Canistos, you could have had for £100, with 2 good tyres, and 2 on the limit. Must get some pics and get them advertised. Always worth putting a wanted post up.
I think the wheels on your v70 are called Amalthea . They are bog orrible Things
I have a set I use in the winter for mine. I am hopeful that the salt will eventually dissolve them completely.
