Yep thats the key im hoping for with the gul tbh i would have stuck with a standard 19t but this had just been rebuilt with it and then I sent it of again to turbo builders to make sure every thing is fine and correctly ballanced.
If I can get any where near that power ide be more than happy

Is Tim going to map yours?

It's quite incredible hows he's managed to hit such a high level of power, not only with a 19t, but running such low boost.

The car has mountains of new parts, radiator, heater matrix, air con condensor, all new ABS sensors, rear disc/pads, suspension components... The bloody thing is gonna be brand new underneath!

Tim has done the engine - S60R 2.5l, shimmed, retaining the R rods and pistons, ported & flowed 850 cylinder head, NA cams, D5 Oil cooler, VXR injectors, ported ME7 manifold, TW Throttle Body, etc...

Brand spanking new 19t ready to bolt on, with a Ferrita down pipe and a Miltek cat back.

Later M56 gearbox, now with a spanking new gripper installed.

BC coilovers, with alternative rear springs (Tims recommendation)

AP Racing calipers have been sent off to Brake Caliper Refurbs, to be rebuilt and refinished in white with black lettering.

I've ordered an AEM FAILSAFE afr/boost gauge & a carbon fibre works door mounted gauge pod.

HID's, US style indicators, amongst lots of other bits and bobs.

Had a rethink on the steering wheel. I have sent the original R steering wheel to Jack at Royal Steering Wheels. I'm having it made thicker, and thumb grips added. Black leather and dark grey alcantara insert.

Hopefully we should be somewhere near by the end of the year.
That is a great list of work to aspire to. Nice to see the car is being saved & improved

    Don't be daft mate.

Honestly considering the rarity, I think you let me have it for a steal

You can't predict what will happen.

When i sold my s70r, it had been completely reliable for me and well looked after, yet within a few months it kept cutting out on the new owner. Dodgy MAF, and a split in a pipe were the cause.

Got some updates from Tim today. He has his work cut out!

The last text message I received said "It's a good job everything is being replaced anyway. Nothing mechanical is of any use."

So that the culprit behind the 10th and final abs fault code!!:

    Engine out:

I reckon the offside engine mount is reusable, what d'you think?!!:

Now, I did say to Tim that I wanted the engine bay to be gleaming, bet he's well chuffed with that!
    Let the cleaning/sanding/priming/painting/unf**king commence:

Spoke to Jonny @ Brake Caliper Refurbs today, AP's should be getting painted by Friday.

I did the gulls bay whilst engine was out. Are you going underneath, especially by exhaust hanger.

Good to see it moving along.

Oh the joys brings it all back at least if its only surface rust its easily rubbed down instead of having to cut it out.

Great updates Chris, sounds like it's going to be awesome when it's done, not that I doubted it wouldn't be knowing what you're like with your cars..
I think people forget how old even the newest 850's are, unfortunately you can't just get away with bolting performance parts on them and enjoying them without considering all the other parts and fittings first, this is where many have fallen victim of multiple faults and continuing failures because unlike yourself and a limited few people most just look with performance blinkers at what can be achieved with bolt ons...

I think you're right there andy. They were a performance bargain to slap a map on and abuse for peanuts. Nowadays they are a bit long in the tooth and things go wrong. It's left to enthusiasts to bring them back to life!
