All the other 2007 Minis are selling well, even cars listed spares or repairs going £1900+. I saw one example go for £1827 with no engine for goodness sake yet mine has been on for the 10th day now and there's been little interest, hopefully it picks up in the last few minutes because right now I'm about to lose my arse!

I guess I'll have to James, can't do it where the car is now though, that's the issue, I don't really have the facilities for this sort of thing!

    I know, excuses, excuses...

Sold! To a trader I bet...hopefully any profit from that can go on the stem seals

They've just got to pay now! They aren't far away, only in Gloucestershire so hopefully it will be gone
When it was on in December the winning bidder was in Kent, they thought the car was in Hertford hence my rant in the listing!

Sadly there is no profit, that's basically what it cost me, in fact exactly what it cost me when you account the fees!
    Paid £1750 + £80 auction fees = £1820
Sold £1850 - £30 eBay fees = £1820 but I spent money trying to sell it at 2 different auction houses! Oh well, at least this will be the end of this nightmare that was accidentally buying a car I hate at auction!

My thinking with this Volvo is to just leave it until I've amassed an amount of money and just go all out with the manual conversion, full engine build?
Woh Dave, calm down, let's remain realistic! Oh I don't know, bloody thing, I have the Alfa and the 850R that both need my attention too don't forget, I intend this summer to be concentrating on the R ideally.

I wondered why you emphasized the HerEford hehe. True story: my [Northern, racist] Geography teacher once said of Southerner's "their geography is very bad" O.o. I hope he turns up & pays up! Mr Trader that is, not my Geography teacher.

I buy & sell cars in much the same way, no money made. At least we have some fun. I forgot you had the 850R...loads of 'reverse profit' to be had there I'm sure.

I've seen too many times people confuse Hereford for Hertford, seems them Londoners need bigger glasses!

The Mini has gone and not to a trader would you believe, just some bloke that wanted one. And he had a wife! I didn't know you could want both a wife AND a Mini? I thought it was one or the other!

I wish I could say I had some fun with the Mini, I spent half the time driving it with a bag over my head! At least it saved the Volvo some winter driving and if I didn't buy the Mini I wouldn't have bought the Clio either so there are some pluses. And, the small amount of money lost on the Mini was made up in the fuel saving over the Volvo anyway so I didn't lose it. At least now when I tell people Mini's are crap I can back it up with facts

I think you're right about the 850, there will certainly be some reverse profit but at least it will save one from the scrapyard

hmm did you actually see his wife or maybe that is just his cover story....the reason I assumed he was a trader was that his bidding history showed that he was bidding on a few different marques within the last month

I actually confused Hereford with Hartford once.

Back in my A/C days I had a call out and went to the wrong Boots store.

Well he was with a lady his age and he didn't seem 'that type' but wanted a Mini and I guess I'm glad he did, it's gone so I can play again, everyone's a winner.
He admitted he felt it was undersold somewhat and that he'd thought he'd barely lose a penny if the engine blew up which is entirely possible with a French engine - oh ££££...!

    Yup.

Didn't go down too well that one.

3.5 Tonne Transit packed to the hilt with tools, not exactly around the corner, more than a couple of quid in diesel!

No sat navs back then though, easy mistake to make while reading the old atlas while driving

Oh, glad the tampon's moved on, Davey

I can remember you saying in the past you ended up in Hereford sorting out A/C, turns out you weren't even supposed to be here. Fantastic, love it

£10 says I buy another car I regret deeply

Well, well, well. How are you lot doing then?

It dawned on me the other day that we've had this V70 for 9 years now, 9 YEARS!
That makes me feel rather old all of a sudden, oh well.

I've made the decision that at some point I will replace the head (or at least pull the inlet manifold off to see if I can see any oil getting past any of those 10 valves!). Think, I gave away a good head last year, woops.

Anyway, that's what's happening with the Volvo what about the rest?
    ___________________

Last time I was on here I had just reduced the fleet back down to a manageable 4 but a few days later it went back up to 5 but since then it's now up to 6. ££££ing hell Dave!

The 5th car was purchased simply as it was so cheap, so so cheap. Any body want a rare car as a runabout/banger?

I give you all the mighty Fiat, a Marea 1.6, pwoar!

Fiat Marea 007 by AcidicDavey, on Flickr

No seriously, I own that! Wish I didn't! Looking at what I ended my last post in this thread with it looks like I owe everyone a tenner, damn!

The other day I bought a car that I intended to replace the Clio with but I don't really fit in it well so yeah...

Another car to question my sexuality. But, in my defence this one is absolutely stunning, the paintwork is immaculate, the best condition car I've ever bought and I'm very fussy!

    More photos here!

Yes I know people taller and fatter than me can fit in these fine but I don't feel that comfortable in it. I'd never sat in the driver's seat of one before, oops! So this one is for sale too!

Right, lets have a round up as it's getting difficult to keep track of the cars now!

    98 V70 AWD - More blue spoke than a knackered 2 stroke!
01 Alfa 166 V6 - It's an Alfa so is short of electricity.
95 850 R - Awaiting my attention, it will get some soon!
02 Clio RS 172 - Fantastic fun daily driver, still no blown up.
00 Fiat Marea - For sale.
02 Mazda MX5 Phoenix SE - For sale as I'm not comfortable in it.

So there we go, I have a problem, or is it 6?

Tune in next time to the next episode of 'Crap Davey's Bought Now!'

Wow, that Fiat is just plain nasty, liking the MX5 though, had one myself for a while, traded it for an RX8.

    Didn't Colin 'charge a Marea?

    MX5 is stunning though, Davey.
Keep hold of it for a month or so 'til the sun comes out properly. You'll get top dollar for it then

The Fiat was silly cheap, like right in front of me for £105 with over 10 months MOT. OK!? I'll have that.
It 'sold' on eBay last night but no word from the winning bidder yet!

I can't stress enough how nice this MX5 is, it is simply stunning and I do truly mean that, some one buy it please before I give in and get rid of the Clio instead!
