Wait 'til you pick up your S90...

They sit so high, they'd probably keep up with a Defender in the brown stuff!

    It lives

Tried it again when I got home and it fired up for about 10 seconds, then coughed and died.

Stuck a can of Tesco's finest 99 in and it fired straight up.

Pulled off the verge and restarted, the difference in level meant 30 extra miles on the computer!

Oh well, lesson learned. Never park on an incline when even approaching low on juice!

Ok, so today I got the car up on a two post lift at a mate's garage to investigate what I thought was a knocking exhaust.

Turns out the R/H lower engine mount is kiffed, so the sump was knocking on the edge of the subframe.

Big pair of mole grips bent the offending bracket out of the way for now.

Smoking is getting a whole lot worse on boost, will have to try to set some time aside to pull the turbo off and investigate.
Hoping it's just a blocked oil drain, but chances are it's going to be the turbo oil seals

Also, the radiator has pretty much bit the dust.
The top outlet collar has obviously snapped before and the top hose replaced with the newer part with the internal reinforcement, but the damage has been done.
The hose itself is currently clinging to around 5mm in places. Anything more than about half an hour's driving results in the coolant warning light coming on.
So, new rad at some point. May as well flush the 'box while I'm at it as I'll lose half the ATF.

Need to reduce the size of the fleet first though to raise some funds.
Why do babies have to be so damned expensive?!

Drive it like you stole it, Matey

The new Derv got a baptism of fire too last night.
Trying to find a late night chemist on a Sunday for medicine for the "Mini Kracken", found one after driving around for ages on t'internet on my phone.
"Closes in 5 minutes" says Mr Google, nav says 11 minutes in current traffic.

    I was there in 4

Aye, the 960 derv is up for sale, the 480 most probably following it out of the gates.

Just pissed off with insurance companies as you read elsewhere.

Not much to report on The Shark since it went out on medium/long term loan to Tomcat while he sorts his V70R.

Last I heard, he was trying his best to avoid pressing the loud pedal too much in order to avoid the James Bond style smoke screen in the rear view mirror.
Must investigate the turbo when it comes home.

The rad top outlet let go while he had it, but I think Craig's sorted that for me.
    Good egg that one

Should hopefully be getting one of his R front splitters too at some point. Nice.

    So. Been a while. Again!

The Shark's still out whoring itself out as Tomcat's daily while he sorts his V70.

The turbo inevitably let go, so Craig has very kindly swapped it out for another 16t he got off his mate. Maybe I'll upgrade it for an 18t in future. Time will tell I guess.

He also changed the knackered engine mount a while ago.
Basically, the longer I leave it with him, the more things he fixes!
Currently thinking if I leave it with him long enough I'll eventually get a brand new car

Went up to see Jamesy at weekend to help him fit Billies to his S70R.
Had a really good craic while doing it and also came away with some goodies in the form of an eggcrate grille and set of projectors among other stuff. Big thanks for all that, Fella

    A couple of pics anyway.

I see the 'full frontal' shot now Ste, looking good! Like the way the sign says 'Square' behind. The black badge grill is on mine now - my ebay grill turned up in about 5 bits so pinched the one from the silver car. I'd take a photo if it wasn't pissing down.

The plan is to go to the Swedish day, cheers for the offer of the brew - when I am passing will give you a shout

You gonna get your money back for it?
Let me know mate, you can have this one back to stick on the silver car.

Lol, never noticed the "Square" sign next to the car. Appropriate though!
