    Mystery rattle

Right, the 850 has now developed a mystery rattle it sounds like it is coming from the rear but as usual it is a nightmare to tell, this seems to have arisen since blanking plate was fitted, but I am 99.9 percent certain this has nothing to do with it as it only occurs over rough surfaces and bumps, does anybody have any suggestions, or should I just pester pete to have a look lol

I had a rattle on my 850 estate turned out to be the tailgate striker that is fitted to the car has a plastic sleeve that wears out and I have sorted it with some black insulation tape ans the seats have same thing so check them out also the bottom lock on the seat base sometimes wear but I'd check stricken plate as I checked all over mine and did my head in for months

Loose pad retainer perhaps? Disappears when you brake.

    Hi

I get some rattles over bumps and surfaces even though I've just changed half of my suspension components. My local ATS had a look some time ago and said it was the exhaust heat shield rattling against the exhaust pipe as the heat shield had come a bit loose. Give that a try!

    Regards

    James

iv seen a few 850s with a rattle on rear,
2 main things it sems to be is rear pads rattle on the pins that hold them in,
and the other one is in the bottom of the rear springs is a nut,it goes through a dome plate to hold the spring to the lower arm,
this nut may not be tight enough as you say youve changed suspension, check its tight enough,

Order the new spring retainers and we'll see if that fixes it lol.
