    V70 AWD lowering ideas?

    Hi all!

This is my first post on these forums but am an active member over on the Volvo Owners Club Forum.

I come here with a couple of questions but today I'll just ask this one.

I have a normal V70 AWD (Not an R) and have owned it a number of years now after I inherited it from my Father. Numerous little things have been done to it but now it's looking badass after I put some refurbished Comets on it it's starting to look way to high!

    Look!

As you all know the rear suspension is unique to the AWDs and was only available with nivomats so you can't just chuck lowering springs on it as it would only lower the front!

The other option is to find an aftermarket kit but...yeah.

I don't have that kind of money! I'm only 19 for god sake!
I hear that I could just fit R struts and nivomats to bring her closer to earth?
Is it really that simple? If so how much of a drop are we looking at?

    Welcome to the forum!

I have an AWD (currently out of action), had a look into lowering it, but the options were very limited.

Like you say, you could fit the V70R AWD suspension on it as I think that is a little lower (not sure of the exact drop), but again its cost.

Reconsider the Intrax option, it's great!
Other wise as previously suggested go for the regular V70R-AWD set up

If I remember correctly you have had a kit on your car for a very long time right?
I recall you posting about yours on the volvo owners forum?

If I sold my 480, the money would go in the pot
