the tip was from Tony - the Toyota MR2 uses the same bushes, and eBay sellers from the US sell the brass bushes as a mod.

Can't really tell what difference they made, as I fitted them...

I don't have much info but I don't believe there's anything you can do when changing rear discs that would cause the rear alignment to go out.

Basically, check the fluid level is OK, and the condition is good (red, translucent not black and opaque).
