Hi Just saying hello and introducing my self. Hello :) I just bought a 1994 T5 Estate this week. my last fast car was a 1989 toyota supra turbo. Its big ends gave up there tight tolerance after a week as the engine leaked oil like its was going out of fashion and I didn't realise. I did manage to use it for a year rattling and clonking like a good'n. I gave up on fast cars for a while, and bought a shed of a escort van diesel. I thought it would be good for carrying my mountain bike to race and stuff.....but it was a crusty old shed that wasn't even remotley fast, unreliable, noisy, bad to drive hehe..but it did do 45+ to the gallon. I thought about getting a 2.0 850 estate, then realised that a t5 would be more fun but hopefully still practical. Loads of room for my and my mates bikes...and its comfy and don't have to thrash it just to get to where i want to go hehe. Had the car 2 days now, first impressions are very good. very nicely screwed together, comfy, not mentally thirsty (supra did 23mpg, the computer reckong 27.5 at the moment with a proper thrash yesterday and some town work and A road cruising). This afternoon a skyline (not gtr...one of the more bland looking ones...gts maybe) was behind me, so I booted it...his bonnet raised as he booted it...but he got smaller in the mirror hehe...guessing his wasn't a fast one then hehe. did have a scare about the fuel tank, not sure its normal yat...but I filled it up to the brim. I parked on my road withe the filler by the kerb, the crown in the road is quite pronounced on my road. when I went back to the car i could smell petrol, but couldn't see any. in the morning the smell was stronger and there was a small puddle on the floor. looked under the car and could see wet petrol stain from what looks like breather pipes. I moved the car to the filler away from the kerb and it hasn't leaked. so not as serious as i thought, although i'll keep my eyes/nose peeled. anyways...hello all. Stu
