Has anyone used this mod and is it any good.

Question for you heyes, i assume you want these otherwise you wouldnt ask, but why would you want them?
Good point Blackbeast
As I have 16" on lowered suspension I assumed widening the width of the axes would give me better handling as they suggest in their web site, but like most things I could be wrong.
As I have 16" on lowered suspension I assumed widening the width of the axes would give me better handling as they suggest in their web site, but like most things I could be wrong.
There are many better ways to improve your handling than putting spacers on. IMO spacers put undue stress on other components which if they fail will cause catastrophic results and thats why I will never use them. Usually, most people put spacers on because either they have large calipers that wont clear the alloys or the alloys arent the correct offset and spacing them out stops the tyre hitting anything in the wheel well. Buy some wider wheels instead, 8" maybe, get some uprated shocks and springs, thicker ARB's, stonger endlinks, strut brace front and rear, rollcage etc. Plenty of other options to think about.
I understand what you mean I just thought HEICO wouldn't sell mods that would cause problems. I have lowered suspension, front strut brace, uprated bushes. I am interested in your suggestion re stronger sway bars and rear strutbrace, where do you suggest I get them. Graham
I understand what you mean I just thought HEICO wouldn't sell mods that would cause problems. Graham
They proberly don't but for sure spacers will increase the geometry off-set and that can effect the stability of the vehicle under all conditions IMHO.
I am interested in your suggestion re stronger sway bars and rear strutbrace, where do you suggest I get them. Graham
There's IPD in the states who make larger swaybars, with regards to the rear strutbrace on second thoughts im not sure it was an actual strut brace, more of a bracket that looked like a rear brace to hold the ohlin rear canistors stable. Get yourself on VolvoSpeed and search for swaybars on there.
Am I right in thinking that putting spacers on the front would destroy the turning circle (unless you then altered the car's wheelbase), whilst putting them on the rear would cause no harm?
Spacers have always been viewed as a get you out of jail when non-standard parts have been fitted. Then it's been a case of using the thinnest possible to overcome the problem. 30MM is a lot of spacer and certainly not something I'd opt to run voluntarily.
Hmmn. I'm after the aethetic of widening the rear track to get my rims to match the front's 'shallow depth', as it is fairly noticable now the car is lowered. Want to leave the front alone, and just do the rears. 20mm in total I would think, any more would require 'rolling the fenders'... any opinions?
