From 2006 Britain will be the first country where every journey by every car will be monitored. http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/transport/article334686.ece Id cards, tracking databases. Why is this government so SCARED of its own citizens?

I have no problem with the legitimate use of this information, its just I don't trust the government one jot to use this information properly. Oh dear, what I have just typed has been logged down against me and will be used as evidence.............. 1984 indeed

Pretty good idea, really. It's one of those things.... If you're not doing anything wrong, you've got nothing to hide. You may very well be praising it when your car gets stolen, free trackers for everyone.

Well I think it stinks. False plates will soon stuff it up - let's hope no-one uses your number! - try and get out of that ~ "we've got your number on camera, so it must be you...".

probably wont be as simple as that though john, you can bet there will be mountains of red tape to cut through before that sort of information is handed out to us.... they will be using it for dishing out speeding fines though no doubt

Around 3 years ago i had a focus, "I" was clocked doing 95mph thro red lights in Bolton @ 2am.... "I" was of course tucked up in bed at that time, when the summons arrived to say i was shocked..... Anyway, to cut it short, it was all upto me to prove it wasnt me, there was very little help offered or given, the only bit of help was from the copper at bolton that went through the picture evidence very finely. So the moral is.... "You are guilty until proven innocent" In their eyes. If our camera reads your reg plate... it must be U.
