Hi
I don't know whether anyone will be interested or not but here goes!
I have for sale my wifes Volvo 850 T5 Saloon. N reg 1996, 107000 miles with full main dealer history apart from today when it was serviced at a volvo specialist.
I own/run a SMART repair company and purchased the car for my wife for a number of reasons. 1. When we got it - the condition of the car was nothing but MINT. 2. It had predominantly the same owner for about 8 years.
3. Full history at Main Dealers. 4. Its VERY reliable and my wife obviously does not screw her cars into the ground so we knew it would last a long time.
If you chopped me in half I would probably be a car inside!! It has always been a boyhood dream to own a T5 but I could never afford one before.
We have literally had this car for 3 months. The problem arose when I noticed at my local Mazda dealer a Ford Mondeo V6 Ghia X. This would not normally float my boat but as I do work for them and as it had only done 36000 miles I got it for silly ( and I mean silly ) money.
My wife actually prefers the mondeo as its not as highly strung ( lets say ) as the T5. I on the other hand am gutted. There were a couple of issues that needed to be sorted with it prior to sale and they have been sorted today. 1. There was what can only be described as a whale sound coming from the front of the car. 2. There was a hesitency under very slight acceleration at certain revs. This has also been resolved.
The car today has had a full service including new front pads, new plugs ( this sorted the hesitency ) and oil etc.
The car is taxed and mot'd until next August.
I am looking realistically ( I think ) at the £2300 mark. The specialist says that in the condition its in he would have thought £2950!!
In the car at the moment is a Becker Navigation Unit which is three months old and a Nokia handsfree kit for a 6230 or similar. If these are required I would be willing to sell them both for just £300 extra.
If anyone knows any enthusiast who may be looking then I would suggest they look at mine. The only negative point to the car is that it has a few small dents at the leading edge of the roof which you could probably get dent devils to pull out cheap. All panels are straight, its HPI clear, its had a timing belt at 80000 miles.
Car is Red ( and still shiny red not faded! ) and has elec front windows, mirrors, sunroof, no aircon, but it has got heated seats.
Its clean and needs to be kept that way by the future owner!
If interested leave a post and I will get back to you. The car is in Poulton Le Fylde, FY6. 10 minutes of Junction 3 M55.
Thanks
Daniel

Oh - forgot to say the price of the car is now £2300 including the Becker Sat Nav and the Nokia Handsfree Kit.
I would rather this go to a home that someone will actually appreciate the car :remybussi rather than somewhere off ebay. :troutslap
Thanks

Looks a very nice genuine car, I think you'll be hard pushed for it to touch £1500 on eBay though, as recently some other T5's with the same sort of mileage/condition with a higher spec have sold for £1400-£1700.
Best of luck with the sale, like I said - looks a nice car! :B_steerin

If it doesn't look like its going to sell for the right money in the value I know its worth it will be taken off sale. I know its an auction but I am not prepared to see it go for the price of a ford escort etc...
Thanks for the nice comment my wife an I were only talking about S60 D5's on the way home. Not sure a dealer would take a v6 mondeo and a T5 against one in part ex though!!! Also D5 still a bit expensive at the mo.

If anyone is interested in this very genuine car then please feel free to make an offer. As mentioned earlier i would rather it go to a good home to someone on this forum.
Thanks

hello again
the car is still for sale and I have dropped the price by a considerable price. I am now looking at approx £1400?? ( ish ) :slap:
please please look at the pics again and tell me that is not a good buy?? even if someone was to fettle it and use it as there toy?? is it not worth a punt?
The price includes a standard din cd player not sat nav as this is due to be removed.
Thanks
Dan

It looks like a nice car but the market is crap at the moment and the t5 prices are pretty weak. I'm looking for an 854 or S70 but in a much lower price range as I want it purely for a toy.

Dont give yer car away if your not desperate to move it, yeah the markets bad just now but you will find a buyer, Its a low milage example so £1400 is fair

how would you suggest selling it?? it is a nice car. i was hoping mrs mopp might be interested as she seems to collect good examples! :B_steerin

Just go down the usual avenues, Autotrader, here, stickers on the windows, and mibees ever fleabay, a dare say if you get no interest someone will take it at a stoopit offer but good luck ;)
Post 75721 by S60D5 on 2006-01-28 13:52:44
£1400 is a much more realistic price. Its in great condition and low mileage which is a great plus point, but the spec is a little low compared to most (no trip computer even) which will turn people off.
If I was in the market for a cheap T5 "toy" (which I would be had I got the room to put it!) I would offer in the region of £1100.
Get some good pics and put it on eBay, you never know?
