I've got a V70 2.5T (2005) SE.
I recently had a stage one remap which has improved the car dramatically.
I'm looking for the next stage of tuning to build a up to 300HP car as I believe that's the max the 2.5T can handle without putting cylinder sleeves and new piston and rods.
I currently need a new exhaust as the back box has fallen off and thought it was a good excuse to upgrade!
What I'd like to know is what are the obvious upgrades. The car is completely stock apart from the map.
Some people have said that a bigger turbo and injectors plus a new map is the way to go.
Others have said, a 3" down-pipe and catless 3" exhaust is the way to go.
All thoughts welcome.

You should be easily able to get 300hp from you car (though it would be a lot easier with an earlier p80 car), the 3"dp and system should be first up, green injectors and 3"maf (if your car doesn't have that already), your turbo should easily be up to the job I believe ( I've made 301hp on the rollers with a tiny 15g turbo in the past), good mapping is the key thing here as you must be me7 or above and that doesn't like changes without remapping as far as I am aware, Have a look at Martin's threads (M-R-P) on here he got over 300hp from his ex-plod P2. Hope that helps, good luck and keep us posted on how you get on.

That’s really helpful, thank you very much.
Is the 3inch maf from another Volvo or can you get them aftermarket.
What are you referring to when you say me7?

you may already have a 3" maf, but yes they were fitted to other volvo's so should be a straight swap, but mapping is a must on these me7 onwards cars as they are very sensitive to changes. Me7 and above are the ecu control system used on p2 Turbo volvo's from 2000 onwards and can be remotely remapped from what I recall.
