Where’s everyone gone? Not much doing here TT
Where’s everyone gone? Not much doing here TT
Few of us still kicking around :)
Most are now spending their time on facebook pages. Virtually impossible to find the backlog of archived stuff, everything is of the moment, most, it seems have the attention span of a gnat. Just this place and the VOC site left, T5D5 is now down. Great shame and a real self inflicted loss to the community..... Don.
This place hasnt been the same in years, as you say Don its a great shame.
I don’t visit the VOC so much these days, the FB sites seem to be more convenient to use. Why not set up on FB then?
I don’t visit the VOC so much these days, the FB sites seem to be more convenient to use. Why not set up on FB then?
I think there was something a while back but not sure if it's still going.
Torque Volvo seem to dominate the Volvo FB scene closely followed by Volvo tuning then a load of splinter sites. I find em a little bit dull these days, it’s the same old stuff circulating TT
I only post on here(and that's not very often) but keep an eye on some of the FB groups. Thinking that I might do the RAF Cosford meet 27/9/20.
I don’t visit the VOC so much these days, the FB sites seem to be more convenient to use. Why not set up on FB then?
As Don said, trouble with FB is it's almost impossible to refer back to archived stuff. FB is ok for up to date and on the fly stuff but pointless for anything else, not to mention being too complicated - unless you spend your life looking at a 4" screen, which I for one chose not to. I have a life outside of my phone. I'm not around as much as I used to be as I'm up to my eyeballs in trying to do up my house. The R has definitely taken a back seat at the moment....:(
I'm a newcomer, and I think it's great to have a good old place where you can periodically come back and chat on your favorite subject with old friends. For this purpose the forum is the best place! And popular social networks take all the user's attention.
Hello and welcome Steve!
Hello and welcome Steve!
Thank you for the warm welcome!
Welcome to the forum Steve! You and Lee have summed it up. I see social media as a throwaway culture, the info is there for seconds then disappears down the list. Have a fab day everyone!!
That is true, if you want detail and information the forums are the best achieves of all the best Volvo info
Just logged in after what I’m guessing is 3 years (had messages from 2 years plus ago), glad to see it’s still up and running.

They are probably using social media groups, but I feel like forums are still helpful nowadays. It's not as popular as before but members come back from time to time.
They are probably using social media groups, but I feel like forums are still helpful nowadays. It's not as popular as before but members come back from time to time.
Volvo Owners club forum is still very active.
Volvo Owners club forum is still very active.
Sadly no where near as active as it used to be, like many of the volvo forums now. It was why I think the transition from the website volvotuning.net disappeared to the Facebook group volvotuning.net. Most on social media now really. Still much prefer forums for me though.
