Would anyone know the torque settings for all the bolts on a 850 awd rear suspension sub frame ? Or is it a case of doing them up FT ?
Ft or RFt mate. Just to be on the safe side. (I can't see Dave's pics either)
I would make sure you use the correct torque settings as the AWD rear subframe is alloy!! I will try and get them for you......(wanders off to garage)...
Would anyone know the torque settings for all the bolts on a 850 awd rear suspension sub frame ?
All of these Tt's (Tightening torques) are taken from a P2 V70 AWD rear wheel suspension from MY2000, but should be the same for the 850 AWD. Basically, all M12 bolts are 80Nm +/- 20 accept for the 'Shock absorber - Upper bearing' M12 = 60Nm +/- 15. M8 bolts are 25Nm +/- 6 M10 bolts are 50Nm +/- 12 M6 bolts are 10Nm +/- 2.5 ST4.8 bolts are 2.4Nm +/- 0.4 All measurements taken from a Volvo pocket data book. Hope that helps!

Top pic - Support arm centre bush - 80nm bottom pic - lower control arm - both inner and outer bolts - 80nm Make sure the suspension is compressed to it's normal height before tightening the bolts fully. Apparently the distance from the centre of the wheel to the top of the wheelarch should be 381mm

Had a very productive day, the awd conversion is going to plan. The only hiccup was all 4 shock top mount captive nuts broke off, had to cut the mount into pieces to get at the bolts. Tomorrow job is to weld the 4 fixings to the frame legs as rain stopped play today.
