I've been looking for quite a while for a replacement for the R, it was obviously going to be another Volvo, my search engine knows of no other car brand. So I was thinking of a S/V60 D5 but Adrienne was determined to get a smaller car so that left me with the V40. They aren't that small when your in them, I feel closer to the roof but I think the rear leg room would easily compete with my S60, I actually think there is more but I need to get an adult to sit behind me to find out.
So I took the plunge and got what I think is a rather nice 2013 V40 D4 R-design lux. I paid rather a lot for this car and could have got a 2016 model for about the same money but the spec level is pretty incredible and it has most extras. It is missing the dynaudio system, I was hoping to get one with that and there was another one for sale with much higher miles that had it but it didn't have half the extras of this one.
Here she goes then:
Can't wait to detail the car, it will be nice to have some young paint to maintain again.
I've applied a quartz coating to the wheels so far.
I've also changed out the rear indicator bulbs for chrome ones, I may change these to LED but at almost £16 for one bulb that will have to wait.
Last thing to do just now is fit the new style rear badge
I don't have much plans for the car but I would like to:
Tint windows
Get wind deflectors
Wrap all the chrome parts in black
Up until 2 seconds ago a polestar remap but just got told it's not available for my car, I'm happy with that as it's bloody expensive anyway.
It could benefit from being lowered but realistically I won't do that.
Anyway on that note my much loved P2 R will be up for sale in the near future [emoji17] I've got a new rear bumper on order from Volvo so once that's fitted I will get it onto the trader. They seem to be going for good money these days so not all bad.

And fitted my 2 new badges, the D4 one had to be moved over to allow for the correct spacing
