Rockingham...The Volvo Pics

A huge thankyou to all that attended the Rockingham 90 Years of Volvo Meet.... it was an amazing day. Fantastic to see such a good turnout too - 127 cars ranging from PVs to Polestars. We were given exclusive access to the Oval track where cars were driven around in small groups in order to have their photos taken. Those that weren't on track were parked in the Pit Lane where everyone seemed to have a great time including lots of friendly conversations and socialising. It was great to see the classic cars amongst the newer cars. Whilst on track, myself and Trugga were strapped into two separate camera vehicles which allowed us to take plenty of pics from some great angles. Some gave their cars a 'little' bit of stick - mentioning no names but we were immediately red flagged by the Race Crew over the radios as they had a speed trap on one of the corners lol. A brief 10 minute break and a slap on our wrist and we had the green light again. The temptation was obviously there to gun it around for some but unfortunately this wasn't a Track Day....maybe next time lol

The annual Volvo track day at Castle Combe must now be approaching its tenth year, this year's date is friday 30th June. I believe the track slots are all booked and paid for but all visitors are welcome on the day with no charge. The event always provides a very substantial donation to its nominated charity. I have always thought there could be sufficient interest in a second venue..... Don.

really was a fantastic day, especially the turn out considering it was midweek.
