This is not a for sale thread, has anybody else noticed that the v70R and S60R are now about the same as the 850's were about 6 years ago, more and more are being broken for spares as they become worth more in parts, when was the last time you saw a £300 850, I fear the same will happen to the 'R' I wonder how much lower they'll go in price before they start to climb back up.
the problem with the S60R/V70R's is nothing is cheap, even your run of the mill stuff like shocks are expensive

They break for £5-6k (I've broken 3) I nearly bought one at the weekend that was £1400 as it was damaged just to manual convert the sonic, don't want to break the magic blue for parts. If there's not interest in the sonic, only options would be break or store it, but as claymore says it's a lot of money sitting in spares. I was reading 15-20 years and cars are at the point they start rising

Estates have traditionally always held their value slightly better than saloons due to the practicality. But yeah, what Steve said is about right - somewhere around 20 years is where prices usually start to climb. Probably because that's the point where there are not all that many left. Time will tell what happens with the P2Rs though. Trouble with them is there are a hell of a lot of "special" parts on these compared to the earlier performance Volvos. As time goes on they will become unavailable to the point that running them becomes almost an impossibility. What impact that will have on prices who knows. Sad, but true. :(

I saw one on Facebook earlier being broken for spares that wouldn't sell at 3k, although I think there must be something wrong with it as that's a low price and it was tastefully modified as well

Back to this thread, I'm fairly certain these cars will just disappear. Try finding a 4B Audi RS6 (same era, circa 2003). These run a Yamaha developed damping system which is even MORE expensive to maintain than the 'R'!
