Hi all, Been offered an excellent pair of 4C front shocks but they are very slightly different in terms of part number (not design, they fit both mounting-wise). They are from a 2004 S80 T6 with the 4C option. (Part number C2502) Do you know if V70R (part number C2501) and s80 T6 front 4C shocks are inter-changeable? Cheers all, o
From what I remember, the S80 4C shocks don't allow the car to sit as low as the R shocks, so your car may end up looking more like an XC70R.
The Rs have an additional setting (advanced) over the 4c options available to the other marques (comfort & sport). Have no idea if this makes any difference to the operation of the shock, but worth looking into. Also, as above, the ride height is different, which may be more of an issue . Good luck.

Cheers all, o[/QUOTE] According to Monroe website.... The S80 T6 >07.06 should have front shock G16826 if fitted with spring E4618 or C2502 if not. (all options on this model can have 4C) The S80II T6 AWD with 4C 03.06> have C2510 front and C1512 rear (Four C - ONLY) All other variants in this model have different shocks and no 4C. The V70II 03.00>07 Model R 2.5T uses C2501 front and C1501 rear. (All model R vehicles have 4C standard) The V70II 03.00>07 AWD (Not Model R) uses C2502 front and I'm guessing a Nivomat shock on the rear as no 4C electronic shock is listed. All other variants of V70II 03.00>07 that do not have 4C use G16826 front and G55023 rear (accept AWD models) that only use G16826 front. Rear not listed so again, most likely Nivomat. So, to answer your question....NO. They are not interchangeable. If you fit the C2502 on your V70R, the ride height will be affected (too high) and your likely to get suspension errors as the SUM most likely won't calibrate properly if too high and there will be a huge discrepancy between front and rear shock movements and SUM values.

Good luck.[/QUOTE] The ADVANCED setting is merely an extra stiffness setting via software and not a physical alteration inside the shock. ie... setting 1, 2. on 4C models (not Model R) setting 1, 2 and 3.. 4C on model R vehicles. The physical difference between a C2501 and C2502 is length. The C2502 being longer due to it being fitted to a car with a higher ride height than a S60R/V70R.
