right on cold start the car always starts first time with no issues .
after the choke cuts out the revs drop to almost stall then back to normal for about 1 minute up and down
then everything is fine and dandy......if you try to drive whilst its dicking around there is no power but once its settled down its bang on
.......head scratching.......

Get codes read - main culprits will probably be Idle control valve or MAF from the symptoms you describe, or even a dicky O2 sensor, possibly. But could also be an number of other minor factors adding up to rough running. Start with the codes & take it from there.
Good luck, cheers, Morgan

If the MAF or O2 aren't throwing codes then it's likely to be the ICV - you didn't mention what year the car is, or service history. One of my old 850 t5s developed similar symptoms, again no codes, but new plugs & cleaning out the ICV sorted the issue.
