Hi, Driving down the road and the car died. It is a 97 940 LPT. Having called the RAC they tell me there is no spark and fuse 1 keeps blowing instantly!! I have had the car for a couple of years and not had a similar problem before? Can anyone tell me what is the cause? Thanks

Well sounds like there is a dead short somewhere in the circuit after the fuse, has there been any work done on the car recently?

Fuse 1 serves the fuel pump and engine controls. From the fuse it goes to the fuel pump relay, fuel ecu and ignition ecu. From the fuel pump relay the power is routed to the fuel pump and the oxygen sensor. You may be able to unplug each one to test for shorts. Could be the one of the ecus has a short, again unplugging may be able to find out if one has gone U/S. You may need to get a lot of fuses. to keep testing.
