Just one of the 3 driving events I'm currently working on, unfortunately most places are gone and currently unable to offer up places as of yet. Volvo ice driving school

sounds very interesting any idea of rough budget for the trip ???

Steve, count me in! Really enjoyed the last time and a couple of days extra should see it at around the £500 mark if flying I guess? However really fancy the drive this time (plenty of time to save too! ;)) Thanks for organizing mate, really appreciated.
sounds very interesting any idea of rough budget for the trip ???
Last trip for flights, hotel, airport parking, factory tour, museum, hire car and food and drink worked out at about £350 for me mate... I wasnt too sparing either, just went for it so no doubt could be done a little cheaper. This was in 4* Hotel etc

Ide like to do this but would also want to drive I'm sure simon said some thing about a more direct ferry

If the dates are favourable, I will drive too, it's more fun that way, I'd be on my own as the wife hates my car and volvos

Post 794695 by t5 pete on 2016-01-09 19:22:10

And on another note it would work out cheaper if people tagged along in other people's cars

All I know is unless it's a quiet Swedish back road I'll / all the passengers in my car will die in a horrific crash. But car sharing would be a good idea, I was hoping to take mine on the frozen lake. It is gonna bump the price up a lot to do the ice driving in considering doing it as a separate event. I'll need to speak with people in gburg to sort what's possible and best times. 2016 is rubbish to go as all new models are coming out and a max of 20 is all I'd take, which is understood of you go as that's how many cars are available. I'd like a 2 hr slot at the test track as it flew by!

Im guessing driving wise and making a week of it with possibly a return trip via the ring your probably looking at 1k to do it. That said with a likely 18 months thats only just over £50 a month to save :rally_dri I definitely plan on driving the T5-R to Gothenburg as Simon driving last time made me jealous and wouldn't be opposed to car sharing.

It would be good if it could line up with the date of thay big volvo meet in sweden

Post 794715 by t5 pete on 2016-01-09 22:04:52

Also ideal to pick up parts while over there a set of eiker will be coming home with me

Post 794716 by Ettienne on 2016-01-09 22:10:05

Big Swedish meet would mean no ice driving I could do that as a separate trip though. I'm on the fence with driving as after 2hrs I get bored, I'd have to car share. I'll kick a few things about but I'll need an itinerary of what people want to do and Volvo is not very flexible at all with dates
Ide like to do this but would also want to drive I'm sure simon said some thing about a more direct ferry
You can get a frieghter from Immingham to Gothenburg but you can only book 30 days in advance. I'd really like to do the ice driving but would also be happy doing the same again as what we did last time.. Another night out drinking would definitely be welcome though! 2017 would be a better time for us as we already have 3 weeks booked for a quick trip to Istanbul this year.

Gonna call this as its nigh on full, those above are on Volvosportuk, so I've made allowance for you and Emlyn I've spoken with. Next trip 2019! Or 2018 now for ice driving!
