Water injection again

The production M4 GTS’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six will be fitted with a water-injection system, which cools down the intake temperature thus allowing a higher compression ratio or increased turbocharger boost for more power

And some older news about the 1-series (prototype?) which uses condensate from the AC to top up the water injection tank.

Cool, no?

Pretty cool for a "standard" motor!

But, but, water puts out fire.

No pun intended...?

I know you are taking the P, but for the doubters I think the following statement from the second link might help...
The spray is so fine that it evaporates before the crucial combustion phase begins.

K-jet, water injection, what is going on with that wastegate.....ahead of their time!
Post 790000 by Doingitsideways on 2015-11-04 17:36:47
That Saab is lovely.
Has to be the most rediculous wastegate actuator rod ever made!
Bet no one ever bent them a little to get a bit more boost or anything, prob not a great idea though with K-Jet!
Hmm... I'm beginning to think that Colin's possibly had the most awesome collection of cars over the years of anyone I've ever met!

Also had about 10 911's, six or seven Westfields and the same amount of Esprits, a Dax cobra and a V12 XJS Manual

that is some collection, I can count the number of decent cars I've owned on one hand
Post 790023 by stribo on 2015-11-04 19:43:11
TBH, there are some fairly shocking cars in that list.

I think that may be one of Colin's favorites, that is just a guess, but there are a few cars on that list I have owned and a good few I wish I had owned, but the place is full of Volvo's and MG's Mini's and oh some corsa's.....sorry about the last ones but the kids need something to learn in (wreck), then they can have tidy cars....:)

see said he rather liked the fiat, but out of the fiat's I rather like the 124 sport and I would consider having one less volvo, if a 124 spider came up in not to bad a condition, that would get me thinking and wallet twitching

That's a hell of a list Colin!! :)
Impressed.

Holy ££££!!
That's one hell of a list there, Colin!!
You, good sir, have just taken it to another level of awesome :D
Post 790054 by Orca2 on 2015-11-05 00:13:08
Mrs Orca had a fiat marea for a while it was a two litre and it went like stink Largely because rust weighs less than steel as it turned out . I couldn't figure out why it was so fast until we saw them on the autostrada in Italy. they were police interceptors , I still kinda miss it it was the ultimate sleeper.

Colin - What was this?
67. Citroen ZX Turbo
I had two Citroen ZX's:
1.9i Volcane (130bhp)
2.0i 16V (160bhp)
I was vaguely aware that a Turbo variant existed in mainland Europe, so assuming this is a home conversion, or you missed the word diesel :)
Handling and engines were top notch, durability on the rest of the car less so...
Post 790059 by kmb on 2015-11-05 08:04:26
Just googled - The Fiat Marea 20v seems to have been a 150bhp car, that not weighing much would explain the briskness.

I perhaps should edit the list to say Turbo Diesel :)

And a nice throaty 2ltr 5 cylinder 20 valve (sound familiar?) Plus, the same chassis as the Coupe turbo :)

That was it 2.0l 20valve it was a superb engine , unfortunately the car quickly dissolved in the rain.
