The DVLA MOT checker now gives you history with just VRN and make:
https://mot-history.net/
Really useful to get an idea on how a car has been treated over its life, as it lists the pass/fail data plus advisories.
Enjoy!

Its a little problematic with private plates..... lists the plates history and not just the car
Post 788595 by kmb on 2015-10-17 14:21:37
Yep - Noticed that too as my old S2000 got put on a private plate shortly after I sold it.
Works great if the car hasn't changed reg though :)

I noticed this when I checked the Gul's mot history, so I think 2006 must have been when the electronic booking and recording for mot's came in and nothing is stored before then, just an idea and I may be proved wrong yet.

Is that your Renault 5 Turbo (was that you)? The oversills give it away - Such low mileage! Some of it done by a thief?

 yes that's the one. I can't prove the mileage as have very little history with the car, but it isn't for selling so not worried about it. It's getting an engine swap atm
fecking tealeaves!!
Post 788981 by kmb on 2015-10-20 16:07:27
It's really getting a different engine? :(
Did they do some unseen damage, I must have missed that update.
I assume you will keep it original and not be tempted by a later Clio engine swap...

A rebuild was overdue before it was stolen, so when it came back I was watching the oil pressure for any excuse for some work :)...oh yeah I'm keeping it the pushrod 1397 cc, I like the cheap tax :D

Like I said it's not for selling so I'm not worried about any of this matching numbers lark. The new engine is a freshly built one to 200/210 CV (about 207 hp Cevennes spec I think) spec - steel liners & what have you.
Same price as a rebuild for my standard one btw....there are big variations in prices for parts cos the people who buy them are just questuaries now rather than people who actually give a ££££ about cars
:B_offtopi
sorry :D

So I just checked my old R.
Finally found out the final mileage of the old clocks which was 233566 in 2011 so from 2007-2011 it did 10k?
Given the state of it when I got it I reckon it was definitely a 300k car. The clocks must of frozen. It was in & I quote... Excellent used condition at 225k in 2007, 7 owners later in Jan 2013 I bought it on its last legs.
Bet that car could tell some stories!

Just noticed that the DVLA MOT check now goes back over 10 years for mileage, they've obviously got more info into the system, super helpful stuff, especially if checking out a car's history:
