My V70 doesnt seem to be holding battery charge properly, it has failed to start a couple of times over the last week or so, Does anyone know what the voltage should read whilst it is running, ? it reads about 14.1/14.2 volts , and about 12.8 when stopped, Which I would have thought indicates the alternator is healthy, battery was replaced about a year ago. I am suspicious that there is something draining the battery down overnight.

That sounds right. Have you had the battery checked? Just because it's about a year old doesn't make it good. I would check the battery first. I would also run the engine with a load on (lights, heater blower, rear screen heater ) and see what alternator is then charging at.
