Not at my house though. I don't have enough beer.
The Tollgate in Trafford Park is pretty good for meets, foody pub.
Yes is that the one near the trafford centre?
Yeah. Always been popular with the old skool ford boys. Means poeple could drop the wives off for shopping at the same time in order to gain a pass out!
Down side to that is "can i have some money to go.shopping"
May I suggest a central location like Durham...?
May I suggest a central location like Durham...?
No.... Only joking all sudgestions are welcome.
No.... Only joking all sudgestions are welcome.
Don't come up here we are all thieving £££££££s
May I suggest holding it in my street so I can piss all my neighbours off?.. They're getting a bit big for their boots lately and needs reminding who the boss is...lol.. Anywhere's good for me tbh.
May I suggest a central location like Durham...?
Or Lagos?! Craig, I think that's an awesome idea!
Or Lagos?!...
Maybe, there is less car stealin going on here
Yea lets all gate crash craigs. or mine craig nows i have plenty of space.
Tbf, so do I Not so.sure Mrs Sideways would agree though! I also have one neighbour in particular I'd love to piss off!
Dont we all.steve.
Good idea and I'd try and make some of these. The last North West 'mini-meets' that we had were usually Lancaster/Morecambe area, partly because a former V70 R owner used to come down from Carlisle to join us.
Not at my house though. I don't have enough beer.
That's no excuse, so your house it is then.
Used to have meets at rushford near halifax
Used to have meets at rushford near halifax
Went to one of those that I think was a T5D5 joint meet thingy. How you doing Abdul and how's Laser etc?
Went to one of those that I think was a T5D5 joint meet thingy. How you doing Abdul and how's Laser etc?
Doing well thanks laser plodding along a few issues with maff sensoe and oxygen sensor but otherwise good hows your cars running
Doing well thanks laser plodding along a few issues with maff sensoe and oxygen sensor but otherwise good hows your cars running
Both Volvos and the Alfa good, but the Saab is issue after issue tbh. I replaced a lamda sensor on Laser but I can't remember which one(if there is 2, which I think there was).
I think u replced the front sensor at reid view
I think u replced the front sensor at reid view
Yeah, I think you're right, but it wasn't a new part as I was selling her to the guy that you bought her off.
I'd come but my vectra would get ridiculed & I would be jealous of the volvo's. Time is not a great healer, especially when I keep seeing my old t5.
I'd come but my vectra would get ridiculed & I would be jealous of the volvo's. Time is not a great healer, especially when I keep seeing my old t5.
You dont have to have a volvo mate, you have the love that will do.
You dont have to have a volvo mate, you have the love that will do.
I have so much love for them mate, I had no choice to get rid with my son aged 10 months & mrs biff due in January. The T5 had to go. I will have another but don't know when. Maybe 18 years. lol
See what we have to put up with steve, bloody wiganer's!!! Cant even talk prolerly. Lace.....place?
There was a Norwegian secretary at one place I was working. One of the lads was from Wigan. We used to call him the 'Wigan Pie-maker'. One day this bird overheard us & said 'He makes Wigs AND Pies??'
A plastic scouser giving grammer lessons?.. that's a bit rich lol...
Hahaha i had a feeling you would bite on that one craig. Salford lad born and bread. Just stuck in this hell hole for now. :haha:
Least my Saab is Swedish. Ze Germans are coming!!
If it was good enough for 007....
If it was good enough for 007....
But then he did have that unfortunate stint in a Z3, didn't he. Case closed M'Lord. Oh, Craig; if we're going down the grammer route, Scouser should have a capital S. You know, S for S41t? (And "Prolerly" isn't a word.) Pmsl
Yes but in his defence he did drive a Z8 :B_steerin
Anyway, this isn't helping to organise a meet  How about Chester??
Chester sounds good to me. And it's "grammar"! :B_thumb:
Hmm... Chester's a bit of a hike for me, especially if we were to make this a semi-regular thing, I am but a pauper with a baby :( Added to the fact that I don't spend enough time at home as it is. Apparently.
Somewhere a bit nearer to Manchester then? along the M56 corridor maybe?
Yeah, like the Whythenshawe junction, as that's where I live!
Well, while we're there it might as well be at your place then, save your petrol and your family having a go at you :D
Well, while we're there it might as well be at your place then, save your petrol and your family having a go at you :D
Thought we'd already agreed that it would be at his house, makes total sense.:)
As long as Bacon is served, the followers of the good Lard will be there ;)
Somewhere a bit nearer to Manchester then? along the M56 corridor maybe?
M62 corridor better for me, and the M65 even better still!! I don't mind a drive down to the M56 though.........
Rather than just a meet, why don't we have a drive and meet? Woodhead or Snake Pass or something like that.
Rather than just a meet, why don't we have a drive and meet? Woodhead or Snake Pass or something like that.
Sounds good, what do others think?
As long as you can all keep up with me that'd be fine :D Coats on....
As long as you can all keep up with me that'd be fine :D Coats on....
But we must stay within the speed limits as I have my S59 remember!!
Rather than just a meet, why don't we have a drive and meet? Woodhead or Snake Pass or something like that.
I like the sound of that. Night or day though, as this massively effects either! As for keeping up (to the speed limit), depending which car I'm in, I'll probably be stone dead last!
Night time would be interesting..................
Erm... About as Swedish as American Pie!
Dude it was built in trollhatten. Line number 2. ;) Your s70 was built in Belgium so mine is more Swedish in fact. The fact it's mostly made with vectra parts. I was born in Wrexham to a scouse mother & a plastic Scouse dad therefore I am Welsh. :) Chester is good by me.
Lol! You sure you're not pissed now? :)
Absolutely sure!! 3rd dry night in a row, and I only usually buy when drunk.
Hi mark! Few bits on yours I wouldn't mind for mine. Even if I do bring it a bit up to my standard it won't be anywhere near my v70. Glwts mate. Have you stuck it on uksaabs?

Too may rules and do's and don'ts over there for my liking so that made me stop short of raising an ad.(I can't be bothered to read all the conditions etc.)

Seems if you haven't got a turbo petrol car they aren't bothered & its wound me up all that business with swampy. Good to see you've provisionally sold it though. ;)
Thanks and it's just a case of the minimum bid going in on the bay @ £500, but I want more than that!!
It's worth more than double that in bits!
It's worth more than double that in bits!
Yeah, but same old story that as a whole it's worth about a grand I reckon even with all the work that I've done. Cost me £1,200 Jul'14 but with lots of things amiss, but I have put 14k miles on her.
Did a NW meet ever happen?
Nope. We said push it in the new year. Twr had a bereavement so we were going to wait till after the festive period.
Sorry, didn't know that but thanks Biff.

There's a meet this Sunday actually on the Wirral? https://www.facebook.com/events/1878692625712389/?ti=cl Not sure if I'm going at the moment, hope to though. Will probably be in the XC90 though, as Ironically, it's the only one that's currently working/MOT'd. (apart from the 850, but that's my workhorse and rough as a bear's arse!)
Looks interesting, Might be able to get the Gul mot'd in time if I'm lucky if not I need to polish up the Ocean race...:)
You may be my decision maker/breaker, Ade. You were invited on the VT Facebook page I think. Like I say, not made my mind up yet. Mainly because I don't really know any of the VT crowd. Pete isn't going btw. If you do go, I still need some oil cooler lines for the S70 ;)

I'll dig you out some oil lines as I have a T-5 I'm stripping for bits at present, if I don't make it there, I'll pop them in the post next week for you Steve.
Good man. Cheers Ade :) Give is a shout and let us know about Sunday.
Good man. Cheers Ade :) Give is a shout and let us know about Sunday.
Will do later this week mate....Colin fancy a convoy, if you're free this Sunday. ?
