The 850 has been with Ben at Pro Reflect this past week for a full paint correction detail. He dropped it back to me this morning. About 4 weeks ago both sides were painted. Still got plenty to do (I'll update the project thread shortly), but it's really taking shape now. Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image

I can't remember off the top of my head where I got them, I'll dig out a link.

Looks good a massive improvement from how it was when you bought it. I'd have gone with anthracite wheels, haven't you got a set of 850 mats? Are they even still available from Volvo.

Gorgeous Chris, your cars are always amazing. One thing though...... Fix that tailpipe.. it's not in the centre of the hole and my OCD is tweeking like mad lol.

Done it proud bud. I would never have got it this far, which would have been a crime.

I don't feel anthracite would have fitted in with the car's overall look, the aim with this one is to keep it as bright and fresh looking as possible. Mats aren't available from Volvo anymore, but I do have a brand new set in the garage to go in. Managed to get them from Ebay, still in the plastic wrapper! Embossed with Volvo though, not 850.

That is MINT mate nice I'd like my T5 done and the C70 where pratts have driven into them in Tescos car park and then legged it without leaving a note :cussing: I have paint scrapes on the bumpers on BOTH cars from old ladies about 80 driving Pikey Range Rovers WAAAAAY too big for their little purple rinse heads to manage! What do Pro Reflect do and whats the dosh like on small jobs? Got a bit of blistering on the V70 too, not far from me. cheers

Post 784090 by S70T5Chris on 2015-08-31 19:09:25

Thanks for the comments chaps, it certainly has been and still is the biggest project car I've ever had!

Post 784092 by kmb on 2015-08-31 19:23:44

It looks perfect, very clear lots of hard work has gone into it, nice credit to you!

Post 784097 by AcidicDavey on 2015-08-31 19:33:15

It does look fabulous Chris, just needs the rear badging reinstated to finish it off ;) Have you considered getting a handbrake handle covered in alcantara too? Would finish the interior off nice imo, it looks a bit out of place with all that lovely alc'.

Nice white R ! I know only one LHD in this rare color. Could you tell me where you found this RIP kit, please? It's the best finish I've ever seen.

Post 784102 by S70T5Chris on 2015-08-31 19:36:37

It's the DO88 RIP kit, but I had it powder coated black.

I'm gonna get that retrimmed and a fresh gearstick gaitor done at the same place I had the arm rest recovered.
It's the DO88 RIP kit, but I had it powder coated black.
Result is nice, but I thought the DO88 RIP kit couldn't be installed with stock air duct (from rear of grill to airbox). Was I wrong?
Result is nice, but I thought the DO88 RIP kit couldn't be installed with stock air duct (from rear of grill to airbox). Was I wrong?
It's a squeeze, but just about doable.
