Well it time I am getting a 4 kw 16 panel system fitted this coming week. Has anyone else got one fitted ?,would be good to get some feed back. Being down south helps with the numbers. The price has come down a lot over the last 4 - 5 years, the return is better than 8% for your investment.
I remember looking at these a while ago, maybe the prices have come down now - in Durham at least the money saved on electric bill was very small compared to cost of installation (so payback period would be many years). What is this sunshine thing you speak of ? Not sure we have such a word in Glasgow.

I've got a 3kw system and it works out very well for us had it 3 years now
We've just got wood and pink lady works awesome for us
Well it's in - on & working, will be keeping a eye on the numbers.
We have a pv system fitted, got it fitted just as energy prices went up about 2 years ago, our bills stayed the same as prior to the rise so I guess they do some good :-)
Our total engergy Bill (as gas has been removed and no boiler / hot water cylinder) is £60 per month all year. We have the hot tub on 6 months of the year, our neighbours pay £130 gas / electric a month total. So it's worked out well for us, we're 8 degrees off due south so I suppose that helps
Well 65 days since the system was fitted, Today it hit the 1000 kwh.

Does the arrow buy the IMP symbol mean that is a 1000 kW you have imported, if so how much have you exported according to the meter (EXP)..??

You have two types of meters fitted 90% will have a produced meter and you get 50% of what it says but the bigger systems have a export meter which pays 100% of what produced.
Well bit of a update system is working very well, the firm that sold it is still in business which is good after the changes in feed in tariffs last year. But the new smart meters that are getting fitted at the moment and upto 2020 will change the way payments are made. At the moment you get paid 50% of what you generate via the production meter reading even if you use 100% of what you generate, But the new smart meters will put a stop to it . The smart meters will know what you use and export back to the grid so if the house is empty during the day you will be better off than the 50% export rate, but if you use the power the system generated you will be worse off. The government is going to save a fair bit with this , no great suprise.
We are just about to move to a new house. One of my first projects will be to fit a PV system - it just wasn't viable on our current house which pissed me off some as the tariff when I originally scoped the project was north of 40p per KwHr.
Mines 41p per kw been in for 3 1/2 years now without issue

My neighbour has the old spinning wheel type that spins backwards when generating lol, I've told her she'll get in trouble.
