Has anyone tried these off the shelf LED bulbs? Once my bulbs die on my 50 I'm thinking of fitting LED's instead. Not the full hid kits but the off the shelf ones instead. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Error-Canbus-Daytime-Running-Lights/dp/B00MM0GYQ0 Are they worth a punt? TT
I notice the leds are by Cree, they make very high quality torches and head torches, Let us know how you get on if you buy them Thongy.. I for one am sick of changing headlamp bulbs .

TT[/QUOTE] This is an interesting topic because Main dealers are now fitting LED's to their cars on the main and dipped beams in some cases with amazing results. New Toyota Prius has them..... One thing to note in the Amazon link is the LED's might well be made by CREE, but those kits in the link will be rubbish! For starters, a proper 1st Gen LED headlight kit should have cooling fans mounted on the base of the bulbs to cool the LED's, as they will get very hot! There is also no digital ballast, just a load resistor to prevent the bulb failure light illuminating. The light output on that particular kit will most certainly be useless with no useable light. Cooling fans on the bulb base and proper wiring harness and digital ballast. Making these the perfect application for front fog lights, as they are close to the ground and close to surface water during winter months. When using this bulb on a P2R foglight, you will need to ditch the rear twist cap as the bulb will not fit. I'm seriously thinking of removing my Fog light Xenon HID's in favour of these as there is no warm up time. They are instant 'ON' and would be the perfect application for Main beam on a P2R H7 bulb.
