One of my parking sensors is playing up, so I'd ordered a new one up and went about fitting it tonight. To do this means removing the rear bumper. While it was off and I was waiting for the paint to dry on the new sensor, I thought I'm bored, so lets start to see if a bit of elbow grease and metal polish could make the exhaust look a bit better.
I'm rather impressed, so maybe tomorrow I'll do the rest.

Hehe, why not Mike I say, one way of passing the time, polishing your tips :) I'd continue and do the whole thing too so I must be sad as well.
Makes perfect sense to me too , jeez how sad are we all . Should really take up golf or have an affair or something.

I need to the bsr on the v70, maybe when it's warmer, but yours seems to have come up ok.
I did the same on my E46 M3 that I had a few years ago make sure you seal the exhaust afterwards I think I used blackfire all metal polish, that keeps it clean for a good few months
Mike every time you post about detailing I learn something new - I'm hopeless with that side of things on cars.... I didn't even know it was possible to do that an exhaust.

Some medium and fine wire wool with metal polish, then da polisher using a medium cutting pad with metal polish on and voila. With the rear bumper back on, from behind you can see part of the exhaust box because of the cut outs around the 4 pipes.

My 16 year daughter was out with her boyfriend today, my 12 year old son was over the skate park with his mates and the wife was gardening, so I had the whole afternoon to myself.

I sold it before moving to Cyprus mate then when we came back we had a baby on the way so there goes the coupe, now I've got 2 kids and 2 dogs so no money or coupe
