It is a tough one. Personally I don't think I could, I have always wanted a gul 855, probably more so than my P2R but I couldn't sell my P2 for one, as in my eyes it's a better car all round. But thats where Im not the same type of patrol head, I find it a better car because it's newer. I couldn't keep going round in circles like some do on here, after I sell my car it is fairly unlikely I would buy another one unless I realized I made a mistake but I definitely wouldn't make it a third time.
For me, I'd go cossie! Just because! I might actually try and sell the Mrs and kids and probably the dog if I had one for an escort cossie!
Personally i would buy the Cossie, not because i want to get rid of you but because its a more collectable car and should never go down in value, NO offence but the only way yours is worth money is in bits, all be it; a lot of money for some very nice bits. (please dont take offence) The cossie will be temperamental; as any old car is, but its a cult collectors car and they are ace. Please dont delete me
If you've never had one I think it will eat away at you til you try it....
If you do go for a Cossie, whatever you do, don't buy Frankie's old one. ;)
I say stick with Volvo as you may well miss it and it will be hard to get it back once its gone
Personally, I've always longed for a Saph. I had the money to get a nice one years ago, but fell out of love with the Ford scene. It's just too far up it's own arse these days for my liking. I got a load of grief for my Capri at shows as it was resprayed Brooklands green before I bought it. The purists just do my head in. It's my car, so keep your opinion to yourself! I still have the Capri, but it was the last Ford I bought. Do still get a hankering for a Saph though. As has already been said, it will bug you to hell until you try.

There's one on ebay for £45k!! Doesn't mean it'll sell for that though. You will never lose money on an old performance Ford, that's why I'll never sell my Capri. That bad boy is my pension! ;)
Aye the light bluey silver Lux spec one? I seen that and couldn't believe the price on it! I actually seen a red one last night Martyn, some lassie driving it, it was immaculate aswell!
A shipping guy use to have blue one at hallys. It wasn't in great shape though. There was a mint (hate that word) red one going around the broch for years.

Please dont delete me[/QUOTE] I agree with my pink car friend ever since I've been in next doors cossy I've longed for one and no other car ive been in has been so much fun that's the reason I'm doing the 240 as I haven't got the money to buy good sorted cossy out right and the 240 should be on par with one as it's vertually going to be the same set up. One word of advice go for 2wd if your wanting 400whp to be reliable alot of mates have 4x4s and are constantly breaking boxed with less that 400 bhp next doors 2wd gets totally abused and keeps on going.
I'm gonna say keep the volvo, i just don't get the whole sierra worship.............must be an age thing ;)

One of the boys I know through having BM's has got a 400bhp RWD saph, it only comes out in the dry and it's a really tidy example!
Dean i have owned all the Cosworths bar an RS500, they are nothing special, they are tempremental and cost a fortune to repair properly, rule of thumb is whatever you pay for one you will need the same in the bank again. To give you a rough idea, my Escort cossy ate driveshafts, so i hade some made, they cost me £6k. The other thing with the Cosworths is its all top end power, nothing low down, where as your Volvo has power from 1500rpm. The only reason to buy a Cosworth is for investment and even then only standard ones will be worth top money.

Agreed with above. Must admit, if I had bought one I'd be scared to death of breaking it. Which, as some will no doubt testify, would only be a matter of time. Especially given the rate I break Volvos!
You know my views on it... If your going to get rid of the t5 your gonna get top dollar from breaking it which is a shame to break one of the nicest & definitely the fastest.. I think your soft doing that for anything bar a 3 door, saphs aren't the same to me. I'm going to stop tagging you on tidy 3 doors now on fb as I don't want to see the legend broken.

cossie everytime mate, yeah they are just rusty old fords but their is something special about them, massive turbo lag then whoosh, they still look cool and the meets are massive, you will have to change your car sometime, and they won't go down in value, do you need the money from the t5? if not keep both lol
I'd definitely keep both for a little while if you can, just so you can decide which you prefer. You'll most likely not lose anything on the Cossie, so wouldn't lose out in the long run, just obviously needs a big outlay to start with.
They don't really do anything for me tbh. An Escort Cosworth is far more appealing to me, but I can't get over how much money they are now! A good Sapphire is gonna set you back a fair wedge. For the same sort of money you could get a decent E46 M3. And no-one could possibly ever convince me that a Saffy would be a better or more enjoyable car to drive. Of course you can get s**tters for £5/6/7/8k. But the same could be said of an M3. Personally i'd only ever have one as an investment, not something that I used regular. You certainly wouldn't lose any money if you bought one, i'd imagine!
Mate swapped his mint Mk2 RS2000 for an Escort Cosworth and hasn't looked back. I told him he was a tw@ but what do I know. Was a LHD German thing, that I can't remember the name of.
you know my answer , but if you go 4x4 make sure you start collecting gearboxes tho. look for a good shell when looking as the other things can be easy sorted with some cash , ie engine rebuild which most have had now , ad recommend changine all the bushes in the full car and get some decent suspension on aswell ooo and mine just shat its gearbox after 250 miles of been live mapped
