Well it's come to this I'm now the proud owner of 3 volvos After a lovely little run down to Dorset I picked myself a lovely little gem Image Image Image Loaded the little stinker up and got her home Gave her a quick wash and clean and she is starting to look ok She does need a lot of work but a vac and polish and a few bits and bobs and I'll be a happy 855 T5 owner Image Image She is still full of dog hair and smell but with a little time and effort I think I got a basis of a tidy project Much thanks must go to Martin (MRP) for going to check her out and then not running away with it before I got there lol

Easy now no airing personal grievances on my thread thankyou please

Looks a good project Geoff! What's the plans? Seems the trend to have multiple volvos, I've not given up on my mrs getting one yet. I think if Martin is given cars then fair play to him, I've only been given one car & to be honest it was a lot worse than either of his. I don't see why the ribbing tbh Steve, that's one of the reasons Martin avoids this place now. Pick on frankie, he bites back. ;)

Post 767005 by AcidicDavey on 2015-04-01 23:16:42

is it a 2.5 or a t5? sales invoice says 2500? also shows codes for keys which you may want to blank

Post 767671 by c70geoff on 2015-04-04 14:23:25

It's a t5 matey as for codes I'm not overly worried it's parked up now with wheels off and no battery

Post 770686 by c70geoff on 2015-04-29 13:34:27

well that green cap didnt work for some reason it started to boil over with the green cap on put old one on and runs fine any ideas troops?

Post 770745 by Hound on 2015-04-29 21:36:10

Maybe your coolant is colour-blind?

Post 770768 by stribo on 2015-04-29 22:03:37

They may have different pressure ratings. I'm not sure about this green cap thing anyway, as my C70 has one, and it's split, but, it's been on the car since I've owned it, and never given problems, maybe it's letting the excess pressure out that a black cap would normally.

Post 770827 by c70geoff on 2015-04-30 08:33:39

Gone back to old cap for now

Post 770847 by Hound on 2015-04-30 10:41:54

Found this, although not all that helpful I'm afraid: Volvo coolant expansion tank caps •grey = 1.50 bar - 22 psi (superceded by the green cap) •green = 1.50 bar - 22 psi •white = 1.00 bar - 15 psi (uncommon) •black = .75 bar - 11 psi (for 140/240s) So from that it seems that the grey and green caps handle the same pressure, but I don't know what other difference there may be.
