Hi,
I have a P2 V70 2.4 T5. I'm trying to diagnose a sound (like two metal surfaces are meeting) I hear when pressing and depressing the clutch.
The strut bar does move forward and backwards, but I read that this is normal? I expected it to be dead set?
Im aware of the top two engine mounts and the lower torque mount, are there any other mounts? could that be the cause of the sound? the engine seems to move more than it should under braking and gear changes.
Any help on what to inspect and how?
Thanks
Sanj

I dont suppose it is your release bearing on its way out ? Or is it like a vinration being transferred to the body you mean. Metallic noise on pressing the clutch sounds like a shagged release bearing to me.

As above or noisy flywheel they klunk when drive engaged, either way might be box off job.

If the noise is there when the engine running and disappears after pressing the clutch its yr flywheel.

when engine is running all is good. It's just when I depress the clutch mainly. Will check again when exactly I hear it

Also..
My footwell lights both passenger and drivers side have stopped working along with the climate control backlights. The backlight for the headlight position wheel to the right of the steering wheel is also looking dim too.
Any ideas on how to fix please ?
Thanks

Drove into work today some more observations about the 'sound'. It only happens when taking off and at very low speeds, almost crawling. Also happens more so when im speeding up rather then slowing down.
