Had the car in for its inspection two a couple of weeks ago and it flagged up my rear right coil spring had snapped. This is very common on the M3's. I thought the handling felt different recently. I ordered up some new coil springs and today set about changing them. Nice straight forward job, got the right one out and it was broken at the bottom. I ordered two springs as if one has gone it wouldn't be long till the other went. Over the last week I'd been getting a rattle coming from the rear left. Guess what, as I jacked the car up, yep the left spring was in two pieces and the snapped bit was resting on the rest of the spring so every time I went over a bump the two bits were banging together :wow:
New springs in, went for a drive and all is good again and the back end is nice and planted again.
