How much has escaped then??? :P
It made 140 hp, which I have mixed feelings about - yes it's down on power but I guess it has been 30 years with probably very little done to it......plus (getting the excuses in) it had to wait hours and hours to get on the dyno....if it was on early doors while the workshop was cold it could of been as much as 141 :D Jobs to do: Valve clearances (cue horror film music) Check mechanical injection........ hehe, for a laugh, I got some pink fluffy dice from Asda the night before the run. They're growing on me, I might keep them :)

Loads of the T2 parts are common to the Gordini's - interior is just about the same, at the front anyway

Looking good James

kind of off topic but could you send me a pm later regarding the best place to sell a 5, ive a mate with a 1 owner low mileage C reg 5 that deserves a home ;) not a turbo...

Gordini still cuts a fine shape, looking great. There's a full on rally style prepped one over here in Lyon, quite often buzzing around, the police seem to stop and take photos rather than complain about his noisy dump valve and general speeding

I had a Renault 5 turbo, raced it too then the use of a friend's Cleo diesel only a few years ago that I did 45,000 miles in. I cannot get the antipathy towards French cars from some quarters..... The more so from Volvo owners as the two companies collaborated extensively until a few years ago. Pity Renault did not buy Volvo cars rather than chinese gangsters.... they do own Volvo bus and truck. Don.

I had lots of French cars... Citroen ZX 1.9i Volcane Citroen ZX 2.0i 16V Citroen AX 1.4 GTi Renault Laguna 2.0 RXE Airflow Renault Clio 200 Cup Some problems with the Citroens, but nothing too serious, Clio Cup I bought new in Sept 2009 and sold after 3.5 years, longest I've kept a car! Most of my other cars were Japanese.

Cracking little cars my mate had 2 around 10 year ago. Dont see them around very often anymore. . Shame!

Is that your turbo 2? If so you are a lucky b@st@d! What a car mate. I have always been in to my Renaults and have had my fair share of GTT's, Clio 16V's and a 19 16V which was my first ever car. Mechanic down the road from me has just bought a Renault 21 Turbo. It's bloody lurvely.

Post 761497 by Sweep on 2015-03-01 15:45:11

Oh it's a proper one too! That's lovely, serious soft spot for these.

Post 761498 by Sweep on 2015-03-01 15:48:35

Actually just 80's French turbo's in general, I'd love a nice 21 turbo, especially a Hydra.

Post 761507 by Santa on 2015-03-01 16:15:29

Theres typical French stuff then there are French 80's hot hatches............it's almost like the French were being controlled by some high power for a decade.

Post 761512 by cherry1809 on 2015-03-01 16:41:09

I'll be honest, I made a bit of a sex wee when I saw your car... Lovely! I don't see the issue tbh. I've had 2 Volcane ZX TD, one ZX 2.0 16v, a BX 16V that went like f*%k to be honest. And there's a Gordini turbo floating around Exmouth that I would sell a kidney for. Mate still has his R11 turbo wrapped up in storage, and his missus white one afaik.
