The last one listed was the 23rd November (as far as I can see) How does everyone feel about this months? The 21st would be pretty busy I think at the vine. Do people fancy a different location? Someone house as I guess it will be small number of people or South Downs hill? Or the week before? Just kicking ideas about

I'm working both the 14th and 21st so we can't do Decembers meet.

28th I have no problem with, just trying to avoid the rush at the vine and Xmas sale shoppers. Car park was very busy last month. I'll go with the flow.

Post 751868 by Ettienne on 2014-12-16 14:09:20

Coilovers are easy, just the rear spring anchor bolts that break. Fronts aren't too bad if drop links play ball. Just have to check everything loosens before starting

Post 751909 by S70T5Chris on 2014-12-16 19:06:52

Really gonna try to make this one guys. The S60 will be in the body shop though, and the 850 is still at Tims. ATR or Bimmer

Change of plan. The S60 is going to the bodyshop in the new year now, so I'll be in that. Might be a bit novel to turn up to a Volvo meet actually in a Volvo! LOL!

Post 753352 by stribo on 2014-12-27 12:14:24

We'll be bringing the V70R if anyone fancies diagnosing the gearbox oddities. ;) Will also bring the S60R if you want to take it for a spin Andy.

Post 753437 by AndysR on 2014-12-27 21:47:49

Thanks for the offer of the drive but as I said to Chris I much rather a passenger ride than driving just in case I break it.. I don't do lucky when it comes to cars ;) So just to clarify you guys are meeting at the vine for 14:00, will you be eating as well or is it a chat and drink coke sort of thing? Just thinking I might get there earlier and eat before you guys arrive if that's the case otherwise I'll wait until you all get there :)

Post 753439 by stribo on 2014-12-27 22:02:54

We'll be eating there, and I can take you out for a spin, then let you take it for a blast on the motorway, what could go wrong? ;)

Post 753645 by AndysR on 2014-12-28 22:06:31

That's me back from the Southern softies meet and I have to say what a nice bunch of people you all are. It was 147 miles each way for me and the traffic was horrendous on the way down, set off at 10:00 and arrived at 13:40, luckily the run back went a lot quicker and having left at 16:40 was home by 19:20, plenty of time to settle before Top Gear :) When I arrived I wasn't sure where everyone was but I was quickly met by Ettienne who's car I'd parked next to, who was in the pub but came out to meet my brother his better half and I. After a quick chat he took me for a spin round the block in his V70R and then shortly after this others started to arrive and time was passing quickly. S70T5Chris also offered me a spin in his but I declined in favour of a passenger lap which was a nice insight into what can be achieved with a few mods. Having stood out for a short while admiring the cars in the cold we retired into the pub for something to eat and then it was time to shoot. I did manage to get a few shots of the cars that were present, see below, when I was leaving but none from arrival so sorry to those who's I missed out. Just want to say thanks for the warm welcome, always nice when you've traveled the distance and made the effort and thanks for the passenger laps. Both equally nice cars in their own rights. I like the traction and the comfort even in advanced mode there's still a good level of comfort, the noise level inside the car is also nice and they both seemed to go well for their respective specs. That said the raw feeling of the 850 is one of the things I currently enjoy and also the pace of it as a result of all the tweaks it had received. That said I'm still confident at some point that I'll have one, just not quite yet think I need to enjoy the 850 a little more the having done nearly 300 miles today it's been very enjoyable despite the horrendous traffic on the way over in the morning. I / we had a passenger ride in chris's s60, very nice car and quick too boot. One thing I did notice is the rate at which he went up the gears on boost, almost like it's too shortly geared now for the power it has now. Looking forward to see how it performs on the Dyno.
