You miserable bar stewards I love christmas. I don't like all the commercial bull££££ though, but tbh that is year-round in most places now..show your kids the film 'Rare Export' will soon put a stop to all that :)

Xmas means a four day weekend.... That is all.....
It's not the most exciting of days in my house.
Last year Zoe worked till 16:00, we had no electric until 19:00.
My mum loves it though, so got to put a brave face on for the day.

Bah humbug to the lot of you. I love Christmas, 2 weeks off work, eating and drinking to excess, catching up with family, and this year Charlie will be more aware of what's going on. :D

Would you believe I got a bollocking from the landlord for that. Power tools yeah man, that is actually a decent make of drill (Makita) to complement my Aldi professionally ££££e socket set. Unusual for me I know

exactly, what's not to like!? Pretending to buy the bairn toys then playing with them yourself....my ma will think up some of the worst christmas games over...
last yeah I bought everyone really awful presents, mixed them all up and posted them to different members of the family e.g. history of cold war unabridged audio book to older sis, how to speak to your cat book for my cat hating dad..etc

Lol what a miserable bunch!
My thoughts are exactly the same as Steve! A good 2 weeks off, with nothing to do other than relax, spend time with my family, eat, drink and be merry! I love Christmas, it such a good feel time of year.

Always good times, but mostly working.
Post 748547 by V70 Graham on 2014-11-19 12:19:43
Well, I'll finish work at 0200 Christmas day then have 4 days off (pure luck) and I'm working earlies on 1st Jan, not that it bothers me, I knew the score when I took the job.
The thing that get's me is that it's all become to commercialised, and I really don't agree with people spending money they don't have just because they feel they should.....some poor sod's are still paying for it in June !
I will have a great few days off at Anne's Sisters and I'm really looking forward to it, just don't start with the carol's in November :santa:

I hate it, it's to commercialised you spend money you haven't got.
And to overcome the boredom of it I'm working both days.

Guess the book:
"I wear the chain I forged in life," replied the Ghost. "I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it. Is its pattern strange to you?"
