Anyone on here keep chickens. Going to inherit 10 soon with 2 coops plus other stuff. Building a run at the moment. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

If you live in the house behind me, and you have a cockerel that crows all day and night, expect a very loud knock on the door.
Cockerels only crow at dawn or dusk generally, so if it's only let out of the coop at sensible times won't upset anybody. Besides both my neighbours are noisy buggers in there own right.

Foammanmark has Chickens too maybe drop him a pm, mind I think he has a few dozen dogs, cats and rabbits too !
Just remember....where there's chickens - there's RATS. Try and make sure you bring all the feed in at night to minimise the risk of unwanted visitors.

My too cats are ratters already but never seen any live ones yet!

Foxes can be a pain
I've got three, quite easy to keep. Get too many eggs to be honest. Don't need a cockerel. You'll be going through some feed with ten.
Don't bother trying to keep area clean. Just let them have their own bit of garden. They will trash it. Keep feed in VERY strong plastic bins, preferably metal bins that are covered. You will be amazed what a rat can chew through. It's not just the cockerels that are noisy though. Larger groups of hens are constantly chattering to each other. Can be a PITA!!!
