Hi guys, haven't posted anything meaningful on the R for a while, so thought I'd attempt one now while the missus is snoring her head off!!!didn't fancy a lie in anyway!
In January I tucked her away in the garage and SORN`d her, nothing major needed doing but I can use my bike for work
Stuck her on Axel stands and I've stripped the brakes, New discs and pads all round, and new callipers up front, but before this i have removed all arch liners, stripped all of the original volvo underseal off, what a ball ache that was!given the inner wings a damn good wire brushing and given a good clean.
I have then rust inhibited with 2 coats of bilt hammer hydrate 80, a coat of dinnitrol underseal, and a top coat of wax, the same process has been applied to the chassis
Uprights, wishbones etc have been rust inhibited and Jotsun conceal black have been applied, the wheels have been sent away for a full refurbishment, and lovely New toyo proxes T1rs.
A full stage 0 is going to be completed before she returns to the Road in May, mbc, and a powerflex polywall mount, might also treat her to a new exhaust too.
6k HID conversion being done too
Then to finish her off a full detail, one of mates works for Auto Glym and is a pro detailer, he has volunteered to help!!
I know the thread is useless without pics, but I'm on the kindle, but will add pics when I get chance

Love the alloys - so mine have been refurbed in a darker shade which I dont think is a nice. Are you's pretty much the original colour? do you have a paint code? Also - whilst I'm at it - where did you get your grill?
Post 709619 by Nealevo on 2014-05-07 14:48:00
The grill is available from PFV (parts for volvo) member on here, as is the 'R' badge, the wheel paint code is Anthracite 932, not available from volvo anymore so you will need to get it made up from a body shop

Lovely! So many memories of mine... 80K miles, the £14500 I paid at three years old, the realisation of the beasts thirst at second fill up. So I got another one; cant beat an 850!

I have no idea how to quote!!we used mostly AG products my mate rob who did the majority of the Graft is a professional detailer, he used various machines And a variety of pads here is a link to his thread on detailing world.
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=340424
The mechanical work was done by my mate who shall remain nameless on here unless he wants to come forward, what he doesn't know about Volvos and Especially 850's isn't worth knowing really.
Thanks to GWE for the exhaust it's very special indeed, I will endeavour to get pics of the chassis up And the whole of the underneath as this area is cleaner than the bodywork!including my red tank straps (sad I know)
Cheers again for the comments
We also fitted MBC, forge blanking plate and polybushed everything in sight!I quite like having my teeth rattled out!
