Its been a bloody long time since I was last on here - nearly a year ago I think....!
Im not sure how exactly an XC90 fits in with the whole VPCUK ethos, but hey its got a Polestar tune on it, so thats something :)
So, what is it:
-Oct 2009 built (2010MY) D5 Polestar gay-tronic with 103,000 km (60k ish miles)
-205bhp 450Nm - data logged at 9,4s 0-60mph :)
-Summum Diplomatic Spec (Bit like an SE Lux in the UK, with some goodies from the diplomatic order scheme)
-Amber Black Metallic
-Upgraded soft black leather
-DynAudio Premium Sound
-Active HIDs
-Full RTi with the 2013 maps
-Remote diesel pre-heater (awesome gadget!)
-Volvo removable towbar
-Seat heaters, passenger electric seat etc - basically the whole option book, except for the RSE
What have I done to it?
Driven it a lot (nearly 15k miles since August)
-Heico Sportiv Volution V 20" wheels
-VolvoTech CANBUS function extender
-Silver mirror caps
-Newer large badge grill
-Small number plates
-Stainless rear bumper guard
-Matt strips on the bottom of the doors
Probably more, but I cant remember!
Some pics (not all taken at the same time, so some mods might be missing from some photos)
I also spent far too many hours of my life getting a VIDA / DiCE installation up and running!

I live down in sunny Limburg. I used to work for Shell on the Brunei LNG boats quite some years ago.... didnt like it much though.
The 450Nm certainly surprises a few people, and its surprisingly spritely at overtaking, well as surprising as a 2200kg behemoth can be....!
The gear-tronic box certainly helps, as you can obviously lock it in to gear to prevent the box from kicking down.
I absolutely love the car. Immensely practical, no negative image, comfy, damn safe and has even managed to return 28+mpg since I have had it, despite me flooring it almost everywhere I go.
I wouldnt know what to replace it with it with (if I had to), obviously curious to see the new XC90 next year though.

LOL, thats a fair description of Dutch indeed.
Very familiar with new kids, although my wife (she is Dutch) forbids me to watch it.
Tis a niice part of the world though, I infinitely prefer here to the UK (well at leas the part I hail from, that being Hull!)

For those who may not have a clue what I am talking about. Brabant -the area in the south of the Netherlands is home to the Dutch equivalent to the English chav... (at least the stereotype is).
New Kids is a Nickleodoen satire based on beer drinking, good for nothing, scroungers. The opel turbo is the car of choice for the 4 "Adults", who's sole purpose is to drink cheap beer (preferably nicked from the local supermarket) and eat fried dutch snacks - kroketjes etc. The video is from the 1st of 2 feature films based on the series called "New Kids Turbo", based around the fictitious town (where not much happens) called Maaskantje.

I cant even think of an English equivalent to New Kids..... very Dutch "humour".

You can buy a BMW X5 25D, which is 218bhp, compared with the 215 in the current XC.
It really could do with another 100bhp, but the engines are a generation behind, so cant complain too much.
I wouldnt like to have a 163bhp version, but the Polestar map at least stops it from being dangerous :)

The old wheels went a long time ago, and ive been running 18" BBS Nereus wheels in the mean time. Only recently changed back up to 20s.
I liked the old wheels too, but the mrs. HATED the black on black, which I can sympathise with.
I also spent far too many hours of my life getting a VIDA / DiCE installation up and running!
