Removing the silly oil cooler.

After having lost a engine due to the silly oil cooler pipe clips I've decided to do something about them this time. I know a jubilee clip could have saved it but the to water cooling is not the most efficient way of doing things so I am fitting oil coolers both for the oil and gearbox ATF The AC was not working so best solution was to get it out the way and remove all the AC bits. This gave me the room for these Image Image For the pipe work I have just used LPG pipe and fittings as I had most of the around. Image Image Image more photos to follow

Just thinking did you put the tube things in the pipe to stop the pipe blowing off if it get to hot and the plastic gives a bit to much. Sorry cant think of the correct name of them. http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&ai=CEOOCEN7eUvCrCZKY0wWBs4DoDfPOjrwE-6DE0UzDud_0kAEIBBACIIugxxooCFDb2qmOBmC7hoCA0AqgAbD6jP8DyAEHqQLkqKW_86C7PqoEJk_QAI4K8DvTkFEQNiZPQ_i2nYXGBPw2s77CTmm4ct1EXNXELx9BgAWz-P4YwAUFoAYm2AYEgAe4hXOQBwPgEpzdvO7V9oiIKQ&sig=AOD64_2SG8X_jnM1V2MO48UMBuI3fDIm6A&ctype=5&ved=0CC8Qwg8&adurl=http://110.xg4ken.com/media/redir.php%3Fprof%3D30%26camp%3D61796%26affcode%3Dpt262%26cid%3D20507861299%26networkType%3Dsearch%26kdv%3Dt%26url%3Dhttp://www.screwfix.com/p/conex-cuprofit-pipe-insert-10mm/61867%253Fkpid%253D61867%2526cm_mmc%253DGoogle-_-Product%252520Listing%252520Ads-_-Sales%252520Tracking-_-sales%252520tracking%252520url Sorry just had a look at the photos have you used copper pipe with plastic sleeve over it ?.

The pipe is plastic. The fittings are barbed and then clamped with a nut and olive, in normal use they are at 10 bar (150psi)

It is rated for upto 125c so should be ok. I will be keeping and eye on it but the temperature range is a very good point http://www.faro-brescia.it/product.php?cat=2&id=6

I used a Saab 9-3 oil cooler, long and thin and fits perfectly in the lower intake of the 850s bumper

I am happy to answer LPG questions here, at least there is no Bongodave or stirban and this forum has moderators that do something. Alternative fuel would be better to cover CNG, Hydrogen and electric etc
