Hi peeps, i dont usually post stuff like this but i dont like the Comet wheels on my Black 850. I want to buy some different wheel but unsure what wheels would look good on a black estate. Can peeps post some pics of different wheels fitted to a 850 estate for me to give me a idea. The only criteria is they must be 17"s i dont like big wheels, here is a couple i like to get the ball rolling

I don't see why 95% of lads on here limit themselves to just oe Volvo wheels. I say take a gamble Gav, jag, ford, Renault & Alfa fit our cars with spigots. :)

I seriously need to sort my alloys out properly, 2 have got serious air leaks from the inner edge of the rim (refurbed them with their tyres on) and the other two have slow leaks. Gonna have to get them done in the new year, I'm sick of blowing them up every other day. I keep considering 18's for the R but I dont know what to go for either.

Post 671495 by Biff on 2013-12-19 22:30:34

I think the jag s type r alloys look well as 18's on them. Pretty cheap too. ;) http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d66/biff_3/835AA077-C4AB-446D-8340-3E5D2BA5ABD4_zps1zj8vdhh.png

Yes mate those jag wheels are 18's but I posted that pic for tc. A local 855 has a set of split rims on it. I've been wondering what they were for a while. Turns out they're off a transit connect!! Looks well though. Lol

Post 671567 by expolicev70t5 on 2013-12-20 09:14:12

I think the black on black looks good but just needs something to break it up and make it standout, therefore if going the black on black route you need something with a highly polished outer rim

They're OK but they look a bit spindly for the slab-sided styling of the car.....and it could do with some silver on the car somewhere else to go with the rims, a silver volvo badge on the grill or something

Why not just get the comets you've got at the moment refurbed so they're mint? I bet half the reason you've now turned your attention to the wheels is because they've got kerb marks ;) For the record Volans are great wheels but should never be fitted to a 70 series as they just look plain wrong..

I love the td imolas. They're my absolute favorite, for an after market wheel. I very nearly bought a set for the r, but was advised that they're not the strongest of wheels, and as I take the r on track, not ideal. Probably fine for road use, but it did put me off a bit.

Mine is on td pro race and used on track riding kerbs etc, and know lots of people that use them without issue ( they arnt square yet :)). Aesthetically not the most appealing, but I bought them for function over looks as needed something to clear the Porsche brakes Image

I'm pretty sure they are 17 x 8j running federal Rsr on a 225 I think... can't remember offset, but can check tomorrow :) think it's a pretty strong offset so they will pretty much clear any caliper

I had the Pro Race 1.2's on my S70, and they were fine for road track, loads of guys use them on T5D5. But they are a different range to the imola's. They are much stronger. The 1.2's I used were 17x8j ET38, they cleared Big Red's buy miles. Tyre size I ran was 235/40/17. I'm sure the Imola's will be fine for the road Gav. My info came from Ben at Shark, who was informed direct from Team Dynamics, believe it or not!
