You cant fit four pot brembos under volans.
AP Racing http://kalmar-union.com/parts/volvo-850_s70_v70_c70-brakes/
If you are running 17" titans, comets or volans then you are running the biggest brakes you can under those wheels. If you running 17" pegs or copy pegs then you can run 320mm discs with renault clio 4 pot brembos. Or if you can run 336mm discs with renault clio 4 pot brembos under 18" pegs or copy pegs.

I thought this thread was about a brake upgrade
Cheere guys yep do know that brembo calipers wont fit under volans was going to get a wilwood kit from the states but once i tried to measure up the volan with the template i knew a 330 kit is impossible.anyway whatever happened to that WMS Kits that were suppose to be made??
Not true. AP's fit behind Titans & Volans without spacers. Not sure about Comets.
IIRC, Elliot ran the Stoptech kit on his R behind Volans without spacers too. Pricey though!!
:stupid:
Yeh there was a thread started by big dave t5 about affordable 4 pot brake kits which had alot of interest the guy had various kits that he was prepared to make, but that was a year ago dont know if any of the members went through with the orders of the Kits.

I did see their size n prices weird how great the interest was and now they seem to be forgotten..talking about prices stoptech n AP are a fortune.
You get what you pay for, as the old saying goes!
I stand corrected, I`ve just been emailed prove that Renault brembos will fit behind Titans :)
The set up that I`m using is as good as the AP and Wilwood but cost only a monkey :)
You'll need spacers if your running one those brake upgrade kits with comets.
Oblark didnt you have the renault calipers running with volans at one point?
Oblark didnt you have the renault calipers running with volans at one point?
Yes i was running renault brembos under volans BUT I had to use a 10mm wheel spacer. With the spacer the wheel no longer located on thecentre of the hub but located on the wheel suds, this meant that I was limited to 60mph as anything faster the steering wheel would vibrate. That is why I`m now running pegs :)
You'll need spacers if your running one those brake upgrade kits with comets.
Just FYI, 7.5j comets clear the AP kit. That's what Yosser is running on his Saffy S70R.
Just FYI, 7.5j comets clear the AP kit. That's what Yosser is running on his Saffy S70R.
Are they the comets from a C70 then?
Are they the comets from a C70 then?
As far as I know, yes. 7.5j clear the AP's without spacers. I did have 7j fitted with spacers but I really prefer to run without them.
As far as I know, yes. 7.5j clear the AP's without spacers. I did have 7j fitted with spacers but I really prefer to run without them.[/ Good to know as to be honest I'm not that happy at the thought of running with spacer either. Cheers for the heads up though.
Are they the comets from a C70 then?
Yes, I believe so. Might be worth keeping your eyes open for some. I'm not a fan of running spacers myself.
There was a company that designed and made bespoke 4 pot kits for 17 inch wheels on this forum - not as expensive as the APs. The issue with fitting any old caliper is the volume of the caliper will affect the brake bias. Chucking on any old brembo is a risky business. http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?40382-Affordable-4-pot-brake-kit I hope to invest in one next year.
I did send an email to the bloke from thqt company WMS or something along them lines but he hasnt replied plus there was alot of interest on this site for the kits but its just seemed to have died no ones talking qbout them.either they werent produced or the quality of them probs wasnt what people expected.

You P1 boys and your tiny brakes :uglyhamme
You P1 boys and your tiny brakes :uglyhamme
yeah yeah, you and your tiny BHP lol ;)
yeah yeah, you and your tiny BHP lol ;)
No point having all that power if you have to use stationary objects to stop the thing mate ;)
No point having all that power if you have to use stationary objects to stop the thing mate ;)
yeah i know lol tell me about it
Think the wilwoods kits with 330mm discs and superlites will fit but u will need spacers.i have the same problem with my volans dnt want to use spacers.was looking at the k sport kits they have god reviews but they around 800 quid.

As Martin said.....us P1 boys and our small brakes.
