Hi guys,
My 850 T5 has just failed its MOT in a way that means I won't be putting it in for re-test, as predicted.
Just wondering what my best way of making the most money back on it is?
Can scrap it as it is for about £120 then claim back about £200 on insurance. If I do this, is there anything in particular that I should strip off the car first that may be of some value to someone?
Or would I be best of attempting to sell it as a whole for spares or repairs?

What's wrong with it? and what year,spec is it?. Someone may be interested in buying it as it is, failing that there could be good money from stripping it, depends on what model it is and also what you personaly want to do.

It's a 1996 850 T5.
It failed the MOT on a few little niggly bits, lights and a wiper etc. Aswell as a hole in the exhaust, causing emissions failure and a Lambda warning light. Aswell as anti roll bar links. Few other odds and ends. PAS and ABS lights both tempramental too. Also needs two tyres. Been quoted around £500 to get it through the MOT.
I'm sure if someone had the time and the facilities this could be done a lot cheaper.
Other than that though, few other niggly bits which won't fail an MOT but will reduce the value of the car.
Spec is electric sunroof, air con, heated half leather - All working but seats aren't in good condition. It's a GLT model I believe.

I know it is still £500, but that is only £10/ week for a years worth of driving? Where in the UK are you? Surely someone would pay £300 for your car..?
