Several people at the DT meet today(from up here and Shropshire/Herefordshire) including myself expressed interest in a rolling road day, so what about a 'central' one. Where/when/who, and we'll see what can be sorted. I'd travel as far as the West Midlands or so for one.

It's finding a place everyone's happy with, which seems to be impossible, and one that's 4wd which is a bit easier. I still think Jamsport is a good place for one, but I know others will disagree.
Northampton.
I'd come that far for one. How many cars could be done in a day do you reckon?

Post 629626 by stribo on 2013-07-27 16:19:56

When I went to the RS day they did over 30.
When I went to the RS day they did over 30.
I don't think that we'd far short of that number. Did people disagree with going there cos of location?

Post 629662 by stribo on 2013-07-27 18:25:14

The whole thread sort of fizzled out rather than people not wanting to go there. I think Big G lost heart with all the problems of trying to co-ordinate people.
I managed OK with the Wakefield RR day, but it's getting the number of definites needed to make the booking.
Yeah, localised ones seem to be easier to organise, a 'central' one where you try to please everyone tends to be more of a problem, as everyone has a different opinion of where is central.

The location is good for East/West Mids, and suits you and hopefully other Southerners as well..............

Had a reply from Jam-Sport saying that 20 is usually the maximum running in a day @ £45.00/car reducing slightly dependent on the numbers. Available dates Sept. 7/21/28th and Oct. 5th but all Saturdays. What do you think on the date etc peeps?

I know it's not central but the Dyno at Motorsport Developments in Blackpool is something to admired.... http://www.youtube.com/user/Motorsportdevelop
I know it's not central but the Dyno at Motorsport Developments in Blackpool is something to admired.... http://www.youtube.com/user/Motorsportdevelop
It does look like a good set up.....but maybe not a great location for everybody. http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/index.html I think what we have to do is decide on a venue and date and take it from there.

5th October would be good for us.

https://www.facebook.com/Dynodaze/info is another option and it is in a fairly central location. I've been there to spectate on a couple of occasions. Its a small unit with nothing but a rolling road in it. Only £30 to run and the guys there are sound. Its a 2wd Vtech machine though so don't know how that compares to maha, dynojet, etc.

Post 631160 by V70 Graham on 2013-07-31 14:14:01

It would probably have to be 4wd to keep everyone happy.

Post 631204 by BIG G on 2013-07-31 17:46:53

Like graham said would need to be 4wd rr, im flexi on dates so whenever! Jus hope everyone can agree on one location (mission impossible) lol.

Post 631219 by LiamT4 on 2013-07-31 18:45:57

Don't forget about r-tech in hinckly, leicestershire, which is a 4wd dyno.
Can't get any more central than these...... :B_thumb:
Think its near the dnyo-daze place, but more suitable because of the 4wd dyno........and it doesn't have a stupid name.
