As you know mini me bought a gul which is in major need of resto I was doing some reading up on painting the other night and found out the gul's are a single stage paint meaning there is no top clear coat. I have seen a few people on here saying there cars are fading and want to bring them back up to life so before paying for resprays try this. First is the roof area I did this by hand just to show how easy it is to cut the paint back Image Image Second is the bonnet now this is in a terrible state not only had the paint oxidised but it looks like some one had been grinding near and covered all the bonnet I use the machine polisher for this Image Image Image Enjoy
Good effort, that should save him some wonga.
Still needs a full re spray its just gone past the point of no return but just goes to show how you can bring even terrible single stage paint back up to a decent standard

I'm surprised how well that has come out, you can REALLY see the difference. Is it not like that all over ? I mean does it need a respray ?

MInes is getting a full hit too, i did polish it like you did but althought it looked good it was still needing taken back down to bare metal and painted. I managed to get a steel sunroof for mine too which is quite neat :)

I just picked up a rotary kit so I'll be giving both cars a good going - over. Expect pics ;)
