'Induction kit 'knocked' together for Gul. Awesome sound.

Decided to use some parts that I have from previous kits to 'knock' one together for Gul. Used the K & N cone that was on my R when I bought her, after a good clean and gentle re-oil, and a bracket that I have from ages ago. Left the bottom of the original airbox in place and haven't removed the bonnet insulation............yet. Just went for a spin and the sound has put a big grin on my face. Seems to make a lot more more noise than the Optiflow kit that's now on my R, and I will try to record it and post it up.
Any mods that I do will be minor, and reversible, promise.
You may have noticed that she's on Comets now, which is temporary until October or so, when the Comets will have Winter tyres fitted and go back on the R. Gul back to her Titans then. I would like to change the headlights/indicators on her as well, and after that nothing really..........
Do it, its just a bloody colour.
I'll keep the originals, for if I was ever to sell her, which is doubtful.
piccys with comets I am quite digging gulls with silver pegs tho just a shame they rub the liners
Volvokid posted a load last Friday after our mini Scottish meet. My Comets need a refurb, but I think still look OK on Gul.

It's your car, do what you bloody want dude. I understand the purists opinions but so long as you keep the original parts I don't see a problem.
It's your car, do what you bloody want dude. All the original parts will be kept and swapped back, if I ever come to part with her, which is not my intention.
Bet it looks better on comets anyway. :hidesbehi
I think she really suits them which surprised me TBH. They aren't in the best of condition either, but still look good IMO.

I doubt you have plans for Lamborghini doors & neon washer jets though. Lol

A couple of bodyshops will be looking at her soon for their opinions. The 'faded' rear quarter is the main issue, but both wings and other bits need some attention.
I thought Guls were faded from the factory :hidesbehi (Says the guy with the metallic urine V70 :slap:)
I think faded yellow was a factory option? One thing with mine it's at least it's faded all over, so you don't really notice :)

Looks same as mine :) park them next to each other and you'd have faded in stereo lol..

Post 616938 by Biff on 2013-06-15 23:27:16

My yellow golf colour concept was the same, it was white in places! Agreed on the lambo doors, they'd look wicked blud sat next to each other on some chrome spinnin dubs...

Was thinking of some purple neons too....

sounds good! I was wondering whether to do something the air filter on mine. Those panel filters look massive anyway tho. Could be worth it just for the sound (not the raspberry :)) I'm not sure about dump valves.......I like the recirc type
Someone's selling a bsr kit on here I've got one on mine and they sound great and look the biz as well!!
I have a BSR Optiflow kit on my V70 R, but the sound from the 'kit' on the Gul makes a lot more noise, or at least it seems like it.
