hi guys, finally at 31 years of age myself any wife to be have taken the plunge and found after a long time of looking found our perfect car, we are now the proud owners of our lovely 850R Estate, or Red dragon
I am myself not newbie when it comes to Volvos in 1988 i was a 7 year old who was taken to Bells Volvo of Northampton to collect my parents new 340GLT, in the family we have had a blue 240DL, then a lovely black 240GLT estate, which we used to tow the caravan with down to the south of France, later we have had two 940SE diesels, a black 850 T5CD, a V70 XC AWD, a V70D5 and a C70 convertible....
This kind of gave me the bug from an early age!!!
so may i introduce you to Valborg!!!our lovely Red Dragon!

A very warm welcome to the club, that love for Volvo's sounds quite familiar to mine, I blamed it on my parents too, no all joking a side fantastic cars Volvo's and I can trace my introduction to the brand at a slightly earlier age of 5 back in 1986 when my parents collected their new 765 GLE remember it like it was yesterday, loved them ever since and can't think of any better day to day brand. Volvo's entry into the BTCC with the 850 accompanied by the motoring press's recognition of the brilliance of the T5 only fueled my desire to own one.
On a seperate note, I recognise that car, it was sold by a one man band specialist car sales site who has an attention to detail when preparing a car for sale that I think should be the standard of any car sales site. It looked nice back then and still looks as good today. It's still listed as a previously sold on his site and if you want the link I'll pm it over to you.

Agreed that is gorgeous. Welcome to the club & I'm agreed on the love of volvo's comes from memories of a Gul yellow 855 t5r that is still owned by the original owner. I would love to own that car someday. Lol

Thanks for the warm welcome guys much appreciated, Andy I know myself who the gentleman in question is, I have already spoken with him at length, it's taken us a while to find one in this condition, although a few teething problems have risen to the surface but that's to be expected, currently in at our local Volvo specialist getting some love, the history file on the car quite simply has to been seen to be appreciated, it's nice to know it was ran along side a Bentley continental turbo at one point!!!
No major plans, keep it factory as Volvo would have wanted, wheel refurbishment along with some new recommended rubber, a factory looking New stainless performance exhaust, front strut brace, and lots of love is all this car wants!!!!
